10/25/2010parentJust dont feel involved like I did at his pre-school Bellwood but he is learning so much. so that counts.
7/27/2009parentI love this school! The teachers and staff care deeply about all of the kids. I only wish their school webpage was updated a little more. In the past the page was up to date and very informative, but lately the page is very bland. We still love the school!!!!
1/13/2009parentMy daughters both went to blackfox (wwaivered in, over Buchanon) They are now @ Buchanon and I sorely miss the enviroment and atmosphere they had at BlackFox. I became friends with most of the Blackfox teachers and still keep in contact with them. I have a son ready to start Kindergarten this year.. I will once again be driving each day and paying if neccessary for him to go to BlackFox VS. Buchanon. It is well worth the extra effort from me; for the extra effort the faculty at Blackfox puts forth. The 2 years my daughters have been at Buchanon, have been drastically different.
9/2/2008parentI love this school! The principal, teachers, and staff are wonderful and truly care about the students. You don't hear much about Black Fox but it is absolutely a diamond in the rough.
7/24/2008parentMy son has gone to Black Fox since Kindergarten, he is starting 5th grade this fall. Between his 3rd and 4th grade year, we moved into a different school zone, I followed the procedures to have him waivered into this great school. Last year, I drove across town just so he could stay in this school. This is one of the most parent friendly schools I have seen. The always welcome parents to stop by. The teachers are the best. They care not only for each student's academics, but the child's well being also. My child was in 1st grade the year of one of the previous reviews and the Kindergerten through 3rd Grade had no more than 20 students per teacher, so I do not understand why they thought there were 36 students in one class. Also every city school had the full day Kindergarten program not just Black Fox.
3/16/2008parentI too have nothing but great things to say about this school. I have had 3 sons to go to this school and just recently had to pull my youngest two from this school because we moved. Let me tell you that I have cried and cried about losing the wonderful teachers that we lost. These teachers go above and beyond to help your child succeed. My kids are both special needs (adhd, and odd) but they have not been treated differently, they have been treated with the utmost respect and I love the teachers they have had. I will miss this school dearly.
3/12/2008parentMy daughter is in first grade at Blackfox, she had a wonderful teacher in kindergarten but 1st grade has been a let down. I like the diversity in the school, but the above average students are left behind.
11/26/2007parentthis school is GREAT! they all LOVE our children. I give this school a 10.
11/15/2006parentMy children have attended Blackfox since kindergarten. We moved out of the zone and I paid each year so they could continue to attend. The staff is great. On a daily bases I can walk in the school and I am always greeted with welcome arms and a smile. My boys really enjoy going to school. There is a great racial, social, as well as economical background of children that attend.
9/28/2006parentI have nothing but good things to say about Black Fox. My kids love it and I hope we are still in this zone when my youngest starts school. One of my children started the same year one of the other reviews did and there were 20 students in the class so I'm not sure how there were ever 36 in one class. The kindergarten children have their own playground as do the other grades. It is a good school.
7/23/2004parentWe had heard good things about Black Fox Elementary which is why we decided to let him go there as opposed to pursuing private school. We were sorely disappointed. Our child was just starting Kindergarten. We got our first surprise when we found out it was a full day program. Our second was to find out they had 36 kids in that class with one teacher. When I was in Kindergarten, it was half days in the same room with one teacher-fun and nurturing. Here they drag them around from class to class; in the lunch room and on the playground with older kids so as to get bullied. Very institutional. The whole experience was very unsettling. The American public school system is broken with little hope of repair.
4/17/2004parentI really like this school and so do my children. This school is very up to date on new learning techniques. For example my son in kindergarten can read already because of their phonics program. The teachers seem really interested in their students progress as well.
