8/23/2011principalCCS believes passionately in assisting, not replacing, parents in the education of their children. We offer a rigorous academic program woven together by the truths of God's Word. If a school is doing its job, children will be prepared for college and career, but this is not the focus of education. Education is for the purpose of training the mind toward a truth-based application of knowledge; training the mind towards wisdom and a life-long love of learning.
5/3/2010parentWe chose to send our child to Calvary Classical School not just because of their emphasis on Jesus in all learning and events, but because the faculty and staff love Jesus and it shows in their lives. They also show Jesus' love to my child.
4/24/2010parentCalvary Classical School is a family at heart. The parents, administrators, and teachers work tirelessly to honor the Lord while educating and nurturing their students. The academics are second to none.
4/20/2010parentCalvary Classical School is a wonderful school that partners with the parents to encourage the children to be thinking, respectful, and God glorifying students. Each of our children has begun CCS in Kindergarten and we couldn't be more please with the education they have received.
4/17/2010parentI love how Christ is incorporated into EVERY aspect of learning at Calvary Classical School!
4/16/2010parentCalvary Classical School is an environment that teaches through a Biblical world view and uses the classical model of Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric.
4/16/2010parentThis school has a fantastic curriculum that is both challenging and God based. My daughter has attended since K4 and it is like a family! The teachers and leadership are more than we could have ever imagined!!
4/16/2010parentI am a parent with 3 children at CCS. Our oldest daughter started attending in K4 and is now in 4th grade. We are so glad to have found a school that works in concert with the parents. Our children love and respect their teachers and have developed a real love for learning. We are so thankful that the Lord brought us to CCS to help us prepare a strong foundation in the hearts and minds of our children.
4/16/2010parentOutstanding school. Challanging academics with a Classical approach. The faculty encourages strong character and has a lot of fun while still keeping standards high.
4/16/2010parentRigorous academics taught from a Christian worldview in a respectful, character-building atmosphere. CCS is well worth the investment in the lives of your children.
9/28/2009parentWe couldn't be more pleased with our experience at CCS! The principal, teachers and staff show a great, sincere love for the children. The curriculum is challenging and provides the Biblical reinforcement children need.
9/21/2009parentThe academic excellence is second to none, and the biblical curriculum is a constant encouragement. There is no better school in all of Hampton Roads.
9/18/2009parentGreat academics, love for God and our children is so evident in the teachers and staff. If you are looking for a school for your little ones this is the place to come. This is my 5th our 5th year at CCS.
9/17/2009parentCalvary Classical school is fantastic. The curriculum challenges the children from Pre-K forward. We are entering our 6th year at CCS and I am amazed at the Christ like attitude of the children, teachers and how they are able to implement God in all parts of education. Thank you Calvary for making my daughter's educational experience all I could hope for!
9/17/2009parentI'm so impressed with the academic program at Calvary. And, the teachers are first rate. My son is challenged and he has fun.
9/17/2009parentWe were so blessed to be able to send our daughter to CCS through the 6th grade. The teachers and staff teach the core subjects at an extremely high level, with the understanding that God is the center of knowledge. CCS cares for the student's minds and souls.
9/17/2009parentWe are very pleased to be part of CCS. Our sons both started attending at the Kindergarten level and now at 2nd and 3rd grade. The education provided is world class in nature! We are truly blessed to have found such a school. The Principal, teachers and staff are very personable. As what the society might consider a minority race, families like ours are welcomed and well integrated! Our children are doing wonderful in an environment which we consider highly favorable and sought after. The values which we give our children at home, find reinforcement at the school. Christ is truly the focus. When relocation surfaced as a subject of discussion in our home, CCS was a major game changer! We highly recommend CCS for anyone seeking such an experience as we have.
9/17/2009parentCCS is an excellent school. This is my daughter's second year there and she loves it. The teachers really care about the children. This school typically has smaller class sizes which allows for more individual attention. There were 14 kids in her class last year and close to the same amount this year. It gives me piece of mind that my daughter is in a safe nurturing environment while I am at work.
9/17/2009parentCCS is an amazing school - very challenging academically but we love the fact that all subjects are taught from a Christian World View and integrated with one another. Our children have been very well prepared for high school and college with the foundation they received at Calvary.
9/17/2009parentExcellent and dedicated teachers for all grades (1-6). Academically rigorous in math and reading/grammar with emphasis on independent thinking from a christian world view . Hope they expand to higher grades.
9/17/2009parentOur granddaughter is in 1 grade and also completed Kindergarten at Calvary. Our first priority was to find a school which places Christ first and also has a stong academic curriculum. We found both in one place. We love the small school atmosphere and feel as if we are leaving her with part of our family. Parental support is great and we are blessed to have many prayer partners among the staff and families. CCS is an answer to prayer.
8/8/2009parentAcademics are second to none. My 2nd grader is speaking Latin, and my K-5 reads at the 4th grade level. Safe, caring, and loving enviroment. Is this an investmenet? Absolutely....one worth every penny. School just built a new main office...this school has it all.....
6/3/2009parentMy two daughters attend CCS. In these challenging economic times and dangerous public school environments, one tends to desire to send their child to a private school, but the reality is that one must weigh the economic value of the private school education vs. a 'good public school'. There is no comparrison! The school is worth every hard earned dollar and more. My oldest daughter passed the state exams at the 95th percentiles and up! She is noe learning pre-algebra concepts in the 2nd grade. Students are challenged to think analytically and to form educated theories based on knowledge taught. Recently after observing a car accident she explained the laws of motion to my husband and I...we were amazed. The school provides a family atmosphere and small class sizes. I am also at ease knowing that my daughters are in a safe, protective, caring environment with the dedicated faculty and staff.
5/28/2008parentthis is a great school, and i plan to put my daughter in k3 this fall.my son was in k5,and the teacher did a really good job with him.the staff is great and the parents i met are too.
3/13/2008parentWhat a great school! My child was reading long sentences 4 months into Kindergarten. Great emphasis on classical learning. Excellent student/teacher ratio. Highly recommended!
3/7/2008parentI think that it is a great school.
9/14/2007parentCalvary Classical provided my kids the exceptional fundamentals in the younger grades, so that when they promoted to upper grades in another school, they were top performers. My daughter, especially, is advanced in math, writing and logic skills from what she learned at CCS.
