Review of York, Pennsylvania

York, not the best but above average place.
Star Rating - 5/6/2019
I've lived here for 60+ years. York refers to itself as the factory capital but they are disappearing. Population is sprawling but gradually more apartments are populating the area. Costs are average to below in relation to neighboring states but taxes are high and road conditions are below average. There is a lot of agriculture in the county but it too is being replaced with developments and warehouses. It is still quite easy to find a home on a wooded lot or an apartment in the city. Great housing diversity but attitudes are still slightly redneck in this area. I'm thinking of moving to another state for retirement due to high taxes and health costs. On the plus side, the cities are improving.
