Desert gone 2 the dogs - 2/3/2010
Phoenix used to be a place where families could live and escape the harsh winters, high taxes and hig crime. With the recent economic times the city has become overrun with california criminals, state government impossing high taxes and an economic meltdown. It's no longer a place to raise a family and while most of the country is trying to rebound phoenix is going to be down for Read More

I LOATH PHOENIX, AZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 1/19/2010
I can't begin to tell you how much the people here suck. Here' a list:

1. Rude and inconsiderate pr###s
2. For a place this hot, the people are as cold as ice
3. They never smile, and if you smile at another male, he will think your gay or if you smile at a woman, she assumes you're coming on to her (Smile Empty Soul)
4. Phoenix is like Zombieland, and the people are Zombies!!!!!!
5. Gender Demographics- around 102 males to every 100 females, although despite this statistic the STD rate is very high Read More

Missing Upstate NY - 1/11/2010
I just moved to Phoenix from Upstate NY (Utica). Obviously Phoenix is one hundred times bigger than Utica but so far I like Phoenix. Don't get me wrong, I miss home, but not as much as I thought I would. The people here seem nice, but of course the cost of living is a tab bit more than what it is back east. I haven't experienced the excessive heat yet but I'm sure my opinion of Phoenix will change by Read More

What a dump! - 1/2/2010
The quality of life here is evaporating. There's a whole city of white trash and ghetto culture that Phoenix youths cherish. And there's very few quality women here, mostly a lot of single moms and divorcees. People here are just generally mean and unfriendly, and what do you expect with the economy? The job market is terrible with several companies which have either downsized or consolidated operations in other states. This fake economy is so dependent on growth and housing that when it stalls, the effects are staggering and far-reached.

Violent crime is down, but petty crime is up, even in nice cities like Gilbert. The police only prioritize DUI arrests because they bring in more money, and avoid ticketing traffic issues like speeders and road rage, both of which are still problematic. Just avoid this place and see what either California and Texas have to offer, Phoenix and the rest of Arizona is a vapid black hold devoid of culture or anything Read More

Year round ridding - 12/16/2009
Phoenix and Arizona is a motorcycle riders dream. You literally have year round ridding, but beware downtown Phoenix is not for the inexperienced rider. Most of Phoenix is always alive and jumping with activities for everyone. Gas is reasonable and food and lodging is comparable but be thrifty and shop around. State tax is on the high side but livable. The scenery and variety of ridding is what makes this ideal and Read More

Its not so great - 12/15/2009
I dont really think this is a good place to live. The prices are too high for what the city/state offers. The pay could be better as well as the work ethic. The city is played out and over rated. The people have strange morals and priorities. Ive been here for 7 years, and if i werent going to school, i would leave probably. There are a lot of opportunities here, but there are a lot of opportunities at a lot of other places. This city kinda makes me think of how it might have felt for the slaves in early america. Or maybe how cows feel on a cattle Read More

how nearsighted some are - 11/22/2009
I've lived in numerous places in the USA and the East Valley area is still my favorite. Of course a large metro area like Phoenix will have problems. So does every other city in the country. If you don't like lots of problems, live in one of the terrific suburbs such as Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler, East Mesa, etc. I lived there for years, never had any problems, and loved the great weather. So the summeis hot. At least it's dry. I cannot stand the 90 degree temps along with 60-70% humidity in many other sities. To me it feels much worse than 105-110 with 15% or so humidity. Phoenis metro has lots of great places to eat and shop, many community theaters and other arts venues, excellent medical facilities, and it is only 45 minutes to an hour to the mountains. Not too far from San Diego or Las Vegas either. Those who don't like it there, please move the heck out so I can come down and buy a couple of homes for my retirement and family. My 3 kids all lvoe the Read More

Paradise....It's Not - 11/18/2009
I was brought her 32 years ago by a former spouse. I am a midwesterner with midwestern values. If you are the same, you will likely not "fit" here.
I raised my children here but would never recommend anyone with young children move here to raise them. The weather for about 8 months is nice, but that is about the only good thing I can Read More
