The West at its best! - 1/9/2022
This is quite likely the best hidden jewel of a community in all of Arizona, along with Snowflake.
It has all the essentials: Walmart, Ace Hardware, Bashas, a community college, great schools.
It is super safe/low crime and has some of the cleanest air in the US.
No traffic at all. Great, family-oriented people. Open and tolerant, without being 'woke'.
And Show Low has a major hospital, many specialist physicians, Home Depot, Lowes, etc., plus an airport with reasonably-priced flights to PHX.
Skiing nearby for winter, lakes nearby for summer.
The climate is amazing: winters are sunny and highs in the 50s, summers are dry and not too hot.

Wonderful town - 10/9/2019
Snowflake is quiet, laidback, no traffic, no hassle. People are super friendly - restaurants, stores, services - everywhere you go people chat and get to know you. The town (including Taylor) has most of what you need: fast food, Walmart, grocery store, hardware store, auto parts stores, gas stations, hotels, a few local restaurants. Anything that’s missing you can find in Show Low a short, scenic drive away. There is a substantial number of members of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, who are, to say the least, a clean living and respectable group of people. Snowflake is about as stereotypical a small American town as you can find. Fourth of July, rodeos, sweet corn, pickup trucks. It’s clean. It’s inexpensive. If you are a bright lights, big city kind of person you will be disappointed - especially since most of the lights in town are off pretty early lol. Read More

Snowflake Weather - 5/2/2009
Snowflake is in the White Mountains of Arizona at ~5700'. Winter temp can get as low as -5 at night but always warms up at least 20-30 degrees during the day. Lots of sunshine here. Summer can get over 100* but not much and it always cools down ~30* at night and during the rainy season daytime temps can stay around 60-70* on or after a rain day. Spring winds are considered, by most people, to be the biggest challenge with gusts getting up to 60mph some days. The dry and sunny climate attracts many who are fleeing mold allergies and/or SAD syndrome and feel best in sunny Read More
