I just moved here and gotta say .. - 12/10/2023
I moved here in March of 2023 and I love it! Coming from the east coast was a breath of fresh air to me. Everyone is so polite, and I have never seen so many people go out of there way to open a door whether I'm carrying anything or not. I could not help read the other comments, and if you think people here have no manners , or are not polite why don't you take a trip to new Jersey, new York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and you'll appreciate this lil gem alot more ! Yes it's slow but I love the slow pace where I came from things are fast and on the go everyone is in a hurry for nothing. People here take there time which I love! Jobs are everywhere I've seen more signs then I can count , and they are constantly building. The one thing I agree with is Walmart really is the big daddy here which is a shame , and there's really nothing to do, but in a lot of towns or small cities you'll find that . Go to council meetings get people together and fight for what you want . Your voice won't be Read More

More-To-Do's! - 1/10/2016
I was born and raised here in Paragould, AR and I have never really got to enjoy going to malls with families or nice resturants, nor do I ever remember having a lot of fun things to go do growing up..i remember the bowling alley and that's really it and Reynolds ark big besides that there's really no recreational fun here..i think there should be more entertainment and recreational places in town and by doing that we may even possibly see crime rates and drug use decrease instead of increasing every year Read More

Paragould isnt that bad - 5/25/2010
Truth is YES you haveto have money or your poor in Paragould. Paragould doesnt have good paying jobs. Paragould has a really bad Meth problem way more than its fair share. The crime is getting worse due to drugs. The elected officails in the area are a joke.
Walmart does dom the area. Walmart has put all other small bizz out of bizz.
Kids in the area are rude. And alot of drunks in the area.
But the air is good the water is good. And if you live in the country it isnt Read More

Love it here! - 2/6/2010
I moved here from California in 2007 and love it here. The air is clean, property is cheap, life is slower, there is no grafitti and far less crime... It is a small town - you don't have hot night life anad lots of shopping options in a small town. Jonesboro is only 20 minutes away and is 3 times larger, has a decent mall, and a University. Concerts? Since I have lived here they have had several big name concerts, and it is only 90 minutes to Memphis where you can get all kinds of shopping, restaurants, concerts, etc. Hot and humid? Yes, during July and August. Where I came from, Bakersfield, California, it could be over 100 from May to October, so I will take the heat here in the two summer months. We actually enjoy four seasons here. Jobs? Again - it's a small town. We are both teachers, and they are notoriously underpaid everywhere, but we make a decent living. We are SO glad that we moved here. We have made good friends at work, church, and already had family here when we moved. Read More

Grocery Stores - 7/7/2008
It bothers me here that there are no decent grocery stores in all on NEA. I don't want to shop at Wal-Mart either and I certainly don't consider it a decent grocery store. It's really sad actually. The people here just settle for what they have because they don't know any better. It really is a town that is behind in the times, and not in the "isn't the quaint kind of Read More

This place is the worst. - 1/11/2007
I hate Paragould. The job market here is absolutely dreadful. In this town you either have money or you are dirt poor. There is definetly no middle ground. We don't have a good book or music store unless you want to shop at Wal-Mart. Seriously, Wal-Mart dominates everything down here. There is no nightlife at all unless you want to go to a smelly bar. You have to either drive one and a half hours to Memphis, TN or three to Little Rock if you want to see a concert or do anything else cool. The people in this town are doomed to working in factories or going into farming. That is really all there is with a few exceptions. I hate it here and I can't wait to Read More
