What BestPlaces Users Say about Big Bear City

Big Bear City is a small mountain community located in Southern California, known for its beautiful landscapes and popular ski resorts. With a population of just over 13,000 people, it offers a tight-knit community feel and a slower pace of life compared to larger cities in the state. However, living in a small town also has its drawbacks, such as limited job opportunities and a higher cost of living. Let's take a look at what some users have to say about their experience living in Big Bear City.

Reviews:

1. "I've been living in Big Bear City for over 10 years and it's been such a peaceful and beautiful place to call home. The natural surroundings are breathtaking and the community is close-knit and friendly. However, the cost of living can be quite high, especially during tourist season. It's also not the most convenient place for job opportunities, so it's important to have a stable income before moving here." - Sarah G.

2. "I moved to Big Bear City from Los Angeles and it was the best decision I've ever made. The air is fresh, the people are welcoming, and the outdoor activities are endless. It's a great place to raise a family and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The only downside is that some basic amenities, like grocery stores, can be a bit of a drive, but it's a small sacrifice for such a peaceful lifestyle." - Mark S.

3. "Living in Big Bear City has been a dream come true for me. I love being surrounded by nature and the mountain views never get old. The community is very involved and there's always something fun happening, whether it's a local festival or a community service event. The only downside is that the winters can be harsh and make it difficult to get around, but that's just the price we pay for living in such a picturesque location." - Amanda R.

4. "I've lived in Big Bear City my whole life and while I appreciate the slower pace and natural beauty, I do feel limited in terms of career growth. There aren't many job opportunities here and the cost of living can be high. However, for those who love the outdoors, there's no better place to be. The hiking trails and ski resorts are top-notch and the community is like a big family. It's definitely a unique place to live." - John D.

Best Place To Live with a Family - 4/15/2008
Having lived in Big Bear City, CA for over 6 years, I can tell you that it is one of the best places to raise a family. The schools are excellent, from elementary to high schools. The community is VERY active is helping families, creating recreational opportunities for children, creating pride in our community. Since housing costs are low compared with Southern California, you can buy a roomy home for an excellent price. The weather is wonderful if you don't mind snow in the winter. We actually have OVER 300 sunny days a year. In the summer, the lake provides watersports. In the winter, the two ski resorts and two full-time snow play areas make Big Bear a winter wonderland! Hiking, bicycling, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, golfing, etc. etc. I love Big Read More
