We live in the BEST city ever! - 7/25/2022
I love this city. Cupertino has everything to offer. We have the best schools, weather, health care, and everything is close by. Absolutely everything is here. People are civil and intelligent. My neighbors are all wonderful. Our children got amazing educations by the best rated school district. I have two parks I can walk to, and many more near by. All the major grocery stores are here. We have fine dining, and every type of food available. The city is maintained well, and traffic is not bad at all. Our roads are kept up well, and again….how we love our weather. Driving to the beach, cities, mountains, etc. is all within 45 minutes.  Read More

The greatest! - 7/25/2022
I’ve lived here for 24 years. Cupertino is totally convenient. Literally library, parks, grocery stores, all shopping, bakery’s, restaurants, all within walking distance. City government is great, planning department has made the city beautiful, crime is low, schools are the best, real estate only appreciates, and perfect weather. Average it out year round to 70. People are friendly, and I must add, it’s close to Santa Cruz, San Jose and San Francisco. A couple of hours from Napa and in the other direction, Carmel and Monterey. Health care is close by and great, many dentists, etc. Many day spas, hair salons, nail salons, dog parks. Concert venue’s are close by. It’s an amazing city. You would be hard pressed to find anything this great. The schools, low crime, weather, great health care, shopping and convenience sold me. My home has gone up over 1 million dollars in that amount of time, and I live in a 2 bed 2 bath condo. Love this Read More

The fit depends on the person. - 8/16/2020
I look at the pros and cons listed here about Cupertino and I just laugh. I’ve lived here for 21 years. Here’s what I can tell you.The pros:-The weather is good year round. -If you are looking for a job in high tech, there are a lot of opportunities here-crime rate is low-Considered by others to have a good education systemCons:- Since I’ve actually gone through the education system here, I probably have more first hand experience than the scholars that review it in our city. I have to say it is severely biased in some ways. It’s a my way or the high way type of education system. Not a lot of balance. - ridiculously expensive. good luck raising a family or even living here on your own if you don’t make close to 6 figures annually. - social environment isn’t the best. - No entertainment. You’ll have to go to neighboring cities if you want that. Just like every other city, whether Cupertino is a good fit for you or not depends on what you are looking for and who you are as a Read More

Another Day in Paradise and Close to Everything, O - 11/24/2014
I chose Cupertino because that is where I have lived since 1977, but I could have named any of the surrounding cities in the SF Bay Area, though I could not have ever afforded living in many of them. Cupertino was a sleepy suburb back then and I was a young man just starting my adult life and career. The weather in the South Bay is the best. In the summer, warm to hot days become cool evenings as the skies become overcast with the daily ocean overcast. This is usually gone before noon and a new, blue skied day is yours to enjoy. My work was both inside and outside year round, the weather was perfect every day. With winter comes the rain, sometimes more than others, once accustomed to it, you never want to leave! Though it is a bit crowded these days, the prune orchards of old have given way to housing developments for everyone to have a home to live in.

It will be tough to find a place so nearly perfect area wise to Cupertino, CA, but I am up to the task, and with Read More

The climate in California is perfect because it is just beautiful. I have moved to California for a year. I love the weather here so much. It is cool in the summer, unlike Hong Kong. It's very hot in Hong Kong in summer. I hate the hot weather because it makes me sweat a lot. On the contrary, the weather in California in winter does not as wet as Hong Kong. Because of the wet cool weather in winter in Hong Kong, it makes me freeze. Now, I don't want to go back to Hong Kong again. I enjoy the life in California. Read More

all-

we moved to cupertino last year, and miss our previous towns a lot.... cupertino is way too broad-boulevard oriented, strip mall central, and lacking a downtown or central gathering place.

cupertino is somewhat unique as it is reportedly advertised in asia as a desireable place to live, so the demographics are very heavily asian. this makes for a great concentration of good restaurants, and many chinese and other businesses. the schools are impacted by this too, and although top rated among the state, they are very intense, homework-heavy, math-and-science heavy and into tests and extra work, and bi/multi-lingual.

it used to be a big farming/agriculture area. it is hot with little fog. most/all farms have been developed into residential/commercial over the past 10-40 years, which is sad for us life-long bay area residents to have seen..... but, the area's yards host nice citrus trees, apples, peaches, cherries, nut trees, and so on......Read More

how are the high schools? - 4/4/2006
My husband and I may have to move to California. He will be working in Mountain View. We have a high school-aged child and I'd love some input about where to live in the surrounding area. We already know that buying a house really isn't an option because of the Read More
