NOT for Equestrians, and HOA is too controlling - 9/22/2017
I'm leaving this review because I feel I was fooled when I moved here. I am an equestrian and I was led to believe that this was a vibrant horse community. Unfortunately, horses are barely tolerated in Hidden Hills. They used to have horse shows and gymkhanas but they don't even do that any more. I never see other people on the trails.
To make matters even worse, the HOA is full of a bunch of bloviating jerks who think they own the town (maybe they do). This results in spec. builders creating McMansions that cover the ENTIRE lot (no matter how big). So Hidden Hills is losing its open, ranch feeling and looking a lot more like Beverly Hills.
If you read the review from "Paul", you will notice that it was written almost a decade ago. Hidden Hills has changed a lot since then. Hidden Hills is a beautiful place. Rolling hills, three rail fences, neighbors who know and (mostly) like each other. Yes, it's a gated community (which I initially feared would feel too snobby), but it's two square miles that feels like Lexington, Kentucky, and I have come to appreciate the security this sanctuary allows my children. And the fact that there are horses and dirt and kids everywhere... Well, the realness of it all keeps most of the Beverly Hills crowd from coming our way. And unlike most parts of Los Angeles (and I think I have lived in all of them) there is a real sense of community here and an appreciation for how rare this way of life is nowadays. Looking for the right place - 4/18/2007
We live in a gated community that is it's own city. It was nice but lately so much money has come into this place that it's losing it's charm. New McMansions are being built and the people who are moving in are not as friendly and down to earth.
