Murrieta - 12/18/2023
Very expensive to rent here. Many apartments in Murrieta charge as much as $2,300 for a single bedroom. But this is California, so maybe it’s cheaper than LA or Orange County? Expect to pay way too much to rent here.

This city has like zero traffic enforcement. Murrieta Hot Springs is a nightmare to drive. No one drives the 45 mph speed limit on hot springs. I never see cops enforcing traffic around here. The speed limit is arbitrary on the main roads around here, apparently. Everyone is in a hurry around here and in a state of impatience.

The city is safe because the city is boring and everyone is either a commuter or has a family. The weather here is dry and has a long dry inland summer that lasts from mid-May to early Read More

Reasonable for California - 7/29/2022
I moved here for my wife's job. It's a cookie cutter middle class community that costs 2-3 times as much as Texas. Homes aren't custom. They are tract homes on small lots. It seems family friendly. People litter on the roads some but otherwise it's clean and well kept. It's hot here during the summer. The mountains and hills are pretty. There aren't really any affordable housing options, although I hear it's cheaper than other places in California. You may pay $800,000 for a $250,000 house in Texas. The upside is you can visit the beach in a days congested drive if you don't mind crowded public beaches and cold water. Surfers paradise. I don't like it compared to Florida beaches where you can swim comfortably and there is white sand. It's a pretty diverse community for the US, especially where I'm from, although maybe not so diverse for California. Huge military and evangelical vibe here. People will talk about God and prayer. They don't see as pushy as people in the South. The air Read More

A great place to live and raise a family - 7/21/2022
A great place to live and raise a family. It’s a quintessential bedroom community. Very safe. Violent crime is a rarity here. Property crime is very low here too.

The perfect place to buy a house and commute to the surrounding areas. Murrieta’s geographical location is at least one hour away from Los Angeles and San Diego.

Keep in mind, if you move here, you will have to deal with California’s notorious traffic and crowded Read More

Once a great community !!! - 6/27/2021
After living here for ten years and witnessing this once unique and family friendly place to raise decent, hardworking, moral kids/family, it has become apparent Murrieta/Temecula area is falling by the wayside like all other cities in California. Just this past couple years it looks like Compton/East L.A. Murrieta/Temecula was a nice mixture of people, now just thugs roaming the mall , grocery store , schools , anywhere you go it feels just a matter of time before this once last vestige will be like all other cities filled with parasites and criminals. It is sickening to watch the progressive communist movement move across this once great nation like a parasitical cancer. After speaking to many who serve here in law enforcement it is of their opinion the local officials downplay what is transpiring here and the oncoming plague moving Read More

31 year resident and I recommend Murrieta highly - 10/20/2020
I’ve lived in Murrieta since 1989 when I was 5 years old. I have resided here for the vast majority of my life and I agree with the 8.5/10 score that it has on this site. All things considered, if you are going to live in California, Murrieta is a great place to live and raise a family especially compared to other cities in the state. I’d prefer to be in a state with better government representatives and lower taxes/cost of living but Murrieta (and surrounding areas) is one of the nicest places to live that doesn’t cost an outrageous amount. Low crime, good people, new(ish)/well maintained
roads/infrastructure and commercial/residential properties, employment opportunities, good public schools, family oriented community with lots of parks and fields for sports, good weather (but hot in summer), friendly and relatively diverse people, within 100 miles of just about anything you can think of to do, etc. Read More

Expect to pay way too much to rent here. - 8/11/2020
I don’t know when the data was compiled, but the cost for an apartment Is much higher then they have. I pay as much as, what they have as a 3 bedroom, as I have a studio. And I looked around for the lowest amount. It is crazy expensive to live here.  Read More

You WILL have Peace of Mind here! - 9/8/2018
Extremely safe. This day and age safety has to be a priority, not only for kids but for yourself. Husband and I have no kids and moved out of Murrieta to San Diego to be closer to our jobs and enjoy being young. Well we thought we would only really be sacrificing space, but we quickly have realized everything we took for granted in Murrieta. Things like SAFETY!! Such a safe place for all. I hate walking the streets of San Diego at night, its something you just avoid. Why live with this anxiety? Murrieta is peacefully QUIET. Getting a wink of sleep in all this construction, constant police sirens because of crime, air planes back and forth, car accidents every 5 seconds, and military exercises or night jet flights...is nearly impossible. Quality of life has severely decreased since moving from Murrieta to San Diego. Another thing is CLEANLINESS! Murrieta is so nice and clean, people rarely litter and take care of the area. We thought San Diego would be great since we are young and Read More

Hot, crowded, overpriced. - 7/17/2018
I have lived here for 13 years...it is terrible. The town is super crowded, not very much shopping and terribly hot year round, especially the summer. There is no place to work so driving to San Diego is the norm. San Diego is approximately 60 miles from Murrieta and it took me 2-1/2 hours to get home from work. Ridiculous. Every place you go there are people and more people, houses on teeny tiny lots and lots of rednecks. It is the Inland Empire after all. The housing market has not done much in the 13 years since I have lived here so don't expect to get a lot for your home when you do sell it as there is too much new construction. A lot of people move here as they cannot afford San Diego or Orange County and by the class of people...it shows. Do yourself a favor, move someplace Read More
