Love It! - 1/31/2009
Gosh people, cry cry cry! That's all I seem to read when I look at the comments about San Diego. Honestly if you moved here and hate that there aren't four seasons, you are a moron to put it bluntly. Nobody moves to California for distinct seasons, they move to avoid winter because they hate winter. I moved because I hate cold seasons. I seem to be much happier than my friends who are stuck in the Midwest shoveling snow and staying inside. If you like seasons and cold don't move here, it's that simple. There are so many things to do and great sports teams. I love the beach and the Gaslight district. The people I know aren't stuck up. Sure there are some that are around here, but no more or less than anywhere else I've been. If you think everyone is stuck up, look in the mirror and question why that is. I think there is great diversity in demographics, cultures and personalities here. White, black, Hispanic, Asian, liberal, conservative, religious, non-religious, they all mix together

San Diego is a beautiful beach town wth many activies accessible to anyone. It also has a high cost of living which can discourage some from living here for a long length of time. Also, there is a sklightly big hoomeless problem in the DownTown Area. It could could improve in ways such as more social services, outreach programs for youth in the inner city sections and also a pro basketball

I moved to San Diego 20 years ago from the midwest and have never regretted it. The climate is perfect. I'm a big runner and no matter what the season, there are always new areas to explore by foot. Highly

San Diego---you work just to make ends meet here! - 1/4/2009
I grew up in San Diego pretty much my whole life. It definitely has the weather and has the beauty(from the beaches and parks). Probably the nicest people you'll find in California compared to L.A. & San Francisco. You'll still find a lot of rude and conceited people here though. People for the most part keep to themselves. So don't expect to make friends instantly or get a "Hi" back.
Pretty much surfing, shorts, and flip flops is the deal here in San Diego.
However you might have to think twice about moving here. It is very fast paced here. Housing is very expensive. Schools especially colleges have no money due to the governator. Jobs are hard to find here unless you know people.
You won't live comfortably here unless you have a profession in:
-Bio-tech
-Bio chemistry
-Doctor
-Accountant
-Genetics
-Chemistry
Otherwise, you're going to be stuck with at least 3 jobs and at least 3 roomates to make

"Beautiful people" - not very down to earth - 12/23/2008
The main thing we don't like about San Diego (and there is a LOT to like here) is the "happenin' crowd" that you see everywhere... If you walk into a grocery store, airport, gas station, pretty much anywhere - everyone is decked out in their hottest outfit, hair completely colored and styled, make-up perfect, designer bag, etc. I find this irritating because I'm nothing like that and I feel like a schlump next to everyone else. Other places in the Country you run up to the grocery store in your sweats with hair in a pony tail, and it's ok. Here, sure, there are people in their sweats... but they're tight, sexy sweats with "HOT" written across the butt and the pony tail is perfectly coiffed! I think you get what I mean. It's not down to earth. It doesn't feel

SAN DIEGO IS TRULY AMAZING - WHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD CAN YOU GO TO THE MOUNTAINS AND ENJOY THE SNOW IN THE WINTER, AND WITHIN AN HOUR IN THE SAME DAY ENJOY THE SAND AND WAVES AT THE BEACH? A "COLD" DAY HERE IS ANY DAY THAT IS BELOW 60 DEGREES (AND THERE AREN'T MANY OF

san diego reality - 11/16/2008
San Diego overall is a great place to live. The climate is the most perfect in the USA with beautiful beaches, homes, and overall nice people. The catch is you better have made your money elsewhere and not trying to start out there. A home will cost you at least $500,000;wages are not necessarily keeping up with the cost of living, and unless you are an immigrant from a foreign country, don't expect the state to help you too much with services. I made $40,000 last year and I barely survive in a one room dump with my son. If you are single, the beach trend is full of parties, drugs and alcohol, bleach blonde girls a size six. Lots to meet, but open your wallet wide. Think about the big picture other than the year round
