City of La Junta is not for any age. - 12/2/2019
I've lived in La Junta CO for about 12 years and to be honest with you I have lived in a lot of palaces but by far this town is the worst! La Junta CO has nothing to offer anyone of any age. All the hype about low cost of living in la junta, low crime rate and local jobs is exaggerate.

Most of the citizen here have to see Dr or specialist out of the area as there are no providers here in this town worth the aggravation. Electric rates that are the highest I've seen for such a small town. Every citizen complaines about the electric rate.

La Junta is not business frendley to new businesses as most don't survive the first year without digging into their savings and the businesses holding on are going broke or on life support. No jobs or industry that pays well nothing but minimum wage fast food or a locker company & bolt manufacturer that work you like a dog for little pay. Lets talk about unemployment most people just give up on finding a job here as there Read More

Living in La Junta - 9/7/2019
I've lived here a lil' over 2 years. The people are very friendly, and the cost of living is low. However, the choices for a lot of things are very minimal. Only 2 grocery stores, Safeway and Walmart. Our Walmart is always out of stock of a lot if things, and Safeway, you couldn't pay me to shop there! I've always felt that their stuff is overpriced, and the dairy products SUCK! Very little shelf life and always a lot more than any other store! There's really only 2 restaurants worth eating at and the Mexican food here is BARFOLA!!! The police here are great! Love them to pieces! The hospital and choices of health providers are horrendous! After working in the medical field for 30 years, I know what to look for in medical providers, and the ones here aren't worth wasting your time seeing. All of my doctors are in Pueblo, and believe me, it's worth the drive to see them! So far, I've seen very little in the way of crime. It is quiet, peaceful and very laid back, and as Read More

Amazed almost every day - 2/19/2010
I'm amazed every day at the friendliness and cheerfulness of the people in La Junta, Colorado. This town offers the kind of old-fashioned atmosphere captured by Norman Rockwell paintings. I'm greeted by name at the bank and the grocery store, and everywhere I go, I see someone I know.
