No longer a nice place to live - 9/21/2019
All of the good reviews on this site were written 5-10 years ago when the town was still nice. Our city officials have allowed uncontrolled growth with no respect for infrastructure and not strategic planning around accommodating the doubling of our population. We have seen a huge increase in traffic and crime in the last few years. Despite the significant population growth there is still absolutely nothing to do in this town. Terrible restaurants and a few coffee shops are your only options. We no longer even have a real bar. This is no longer a small friendly town. Everyone here is extremely rude and unfriendly. Read More

God Awful - 2/17/2019
I've lived here for about seven years, which is much too long to be suffering in a place like this. It has all the conservative features of Greeley but none of its available activities. It has two grocery stores but two dozen fast food places. Gas prices are higher than any surrounding areas. It is called "Vanilla Valley" because it is quite literally almost entirely white people.

Traffic is horrible because there is no room to expand Main Street (which, if you are going anywhere in Windsor, you will come across) and absolutely no public transportation (unless you count school busses). Drivers are terrible, and the driving population consists of maybe 40% diesel trucks.

As a graduate of Windsor High School, I can confirm that there are drug problems, racism, classism, and to top it off, garbage academics. Your options are "so easy I forget to stay awake" classes or AP classes. The only thing semi-decent about the school is its music program. Some people I Read More

Windsor, CO - 12/15/2014
The town of Windsor is still horrid. I grew up and went K-10th in Windsor in the 70's and 80's and graduated in Loveland. Nothing has changed with Windsor since then except more houses and bigger schools. There is still nothing to do for the kids besides party and do things they shouldn't be doing. After learning that there was still serious drug issues in the Windsor schools and community (not Mary Jane), we took our children to other schools. Windsor is not somewhere to raise children!  Read More

Great place to raise a family - 1/10/2012
Windsor, Colorado offers the best of small town living with the amenities of a big city very nearby. The school district is top notch. My oldest graduated from Windsor High School 2 years ago and did very well. She was very active in their wonderful music program. My youngest has been attending school in Windsor since Kindergarten and I'm very happy with the responsive, caring nature of the administration and the staff at each of the schools. The cost of living is really high here and there is a distinct lack of rentals or affordable housing of any type.

I grew up in Fort Collins, which is about 12 mile northwest of Windsor, and enjoy the area very much.

Happy I moved here - 4/6/2011
I moved here from WY, hoping to have better access to DIA and my family. I'm so happy I made the move. We don't have to worry about traffic jams and long lines in Windsor, yet we're 10-15 minutes from shopping in Fort Collins/Loveland/Greeley. People are nice. There are lots of recreational opportunites here, with nice lakes, nice trails and a good community rec. center. Schools are good and crime is low. I'm not sure what "Dean" is talking about regarding the schools. He must be confused on where he's posting Read More

I love this town! - 10/20/2010
I have had the pleasure of living in Windsor for 4 1/2 years and really love it here. I have driven a school bus since I moved here so I have had quite a bit of access to the people of the town and in the surrounding areas. This is a great location to be living! The schools are very good, there are trails and paths for biking, walking, and running. There is a couple of nice sized lakes for swimming, fishing, boating, and being active around. It is a beautiful and friendly community. There truly is something for everyone to do here. There are many cultural events and family oriented activities. What you might not be able to find you can find in a neighboring community close by. With Fort Collins and Loveland within a half hour and Denver only an hour away, whatever your heart desires, you will find at your fingertips!  Read More

Great place to live! - 4/14/2008
We moved to Windsor from Cheyenne, WY 5 years ago & we love it. Denver is about an hour south of us & we can be at DIA within an hour. We are also about 13-15 miles from Fort Collins (overated), Greeley & Loveland. We can be in Estes Park in about an hour also. My daughter commuted from home to Colorado State. Every time we go to Ft. Collins, we're so glad we live here instead. We can walk to the grocery store & pharmacy, dry cleaners & video store. People are generally friendly. Crime is low. Not sure where another reviewer thought schools were as bad as Arkansas, etc. Would love to see where they got their stats. Greeley, on the other hand does have major problems. Unfortunately, all around us is booming & population is growing , along with traffic. The weather can be extreme but we get a lot of sun, so I can handle it. The only thing I don't like about Colorado, in general, is the lack of decent public transportation. People out here love their SUV's & pickups & are Read More
