0 stars for a 0 class redneck town - 10/21/2021
I've had to drive through this town on several road trip and there is nothing to do here except Wal Mart. No Class, no education, no worth while attractions. Just a redneck town in the middle of nowhere and Read More

DeFuniak Springs, FL at first glance is not a bad town. But make sure you do some research on the crime here. The people are nice at face value, but don't let them fool you!

half dead people - 6/9/2011
We have lived here for two years and it is the worst two years of my life. Our house is for sale, we just can't take these ignorant and backward people. Walmart is where everyone goes...to just stand there in the way and talk about nothing. They are all fat as hell and crippled up and it is gross. Nothing to do here. The beach is an hour away. Nobody here has an education and they all are slow minded and stupid.....Don't move here, hell don't even stop here. Don't even get off I-10, just keep going anywhere but Read More

Living here - 11/7/2010
I've lived here for several years. If you are 'passing through', seeing the downtown historical area and lakeyard is nice to visit and stretch your legs. IF you are relocating here, please BEWARE and take my words seriously. Their are NO jobs (unless Wal-Mart and fast food are your career choices) and I've watched several businesses close shop. Unless you are an imbreed to any of the families here, you are an outcast and very unwelcomed (so be careful gossiping about someone). If you get a job but your boss wants his nephew/son/daughter on the job... well you can consider yourself gone and jobless. IF I could afford to get the heck out of this place I would do it today! Read More

Historic DeFuni - 8/1/2009
DeFuniak Springs is a town with some beautiful old historic homes. Most people here like the quieter life style. Oh yes, Lowes just opened a new store here because they see future growth. Marvins, another building supply retailer, also opened a store. Taxes are low. It does lack a theatre but has a theatre for live performance. It also has a couple of good restaurants. With the new commercial movement,I have no doubt about future growth when the economy fully recovers. A lot of folks live around the periphery of the town where there has been considerable development in the last few years. If the towns boundary's were to expand taking in the development it would show a significant increase in population. There are also numerous churches for people of faith. A new High School has been built taking into account future growth. If you want a quieter less hectic life style, DeFuniak Springs is right for Read More

Run far far away!!! - 9/14/2006
This town sucks. I have lived here for most of my life due to circumstances out of my control. It is a town where there is no active social events, no culture, and nothing to do. This town has nothing to offer anyone who is young and active. The entire town revolves around a lake and the Wal-Mart. There isn't even a decent place to eat if you want to have a nice dinner. There are tons of fast food resturants, but no where to sit down and have a meal that doesn't revolve around grease. The closest place to see a movie is nearly an hours drive awar. If you are a person that wants life to move at a backward crawl, this may be the place for you. If you don't want to live in a place where the prime social activity is the nightly gathering of pick-up trucks in the Wal-Mart parking lot, look Read More
