Something nice to say about PSL - 8/15/2014
Something nice to say about PSL. Beach, Weather, Fishing, Flora and Fauna. People need to wake up and not take things for granted. PSL is a tropical oasis. Respect it and understand it for what it offers. PSL is not perfect but they are trying to change that. I see that happening. PSL is not for everyone nor is Florida in general. Too hot , too humid, weather is frightening, Everything costs too much. Bich, moan & complain. There are just as many people that are as excited as heck to live here as the others that dont. PSL in the RiverPark area is bouncing back. I see pride of ownership returning. Its good to see. I like it. PSL is simple and offers a lot of contrasting elements. If you want to retire. Bullseye!! Great restaurant deals, beach, happy hours, weather is perfect for me. High 80's, low 90's summer and perfect the rest of the year. Now if you need a high paying job not in medical field or legal then you may want to study options more carefully. all in all.. great place and Read More

The worst place I ever lived - 10/4/2013
I lived in PGA Village which is the nicest community in town. Once I got outside of the community, I was confronted by a sea of rednecks, tailgaters in jacked up pick-up trucks, trailer park trash people, low life toothless and tattoo'd losers, and a negative energy that I have never experienced anywhere before. It's incredible unfriendly and there is absolutely nothing to do for an adult here. Horrible restaurants selling junk food, no decent shopping, terrible traffic for such a small city, and an overall feeling of apathy in this place. There is zero work ethic and trying to hire competent contractors to work on your house is all but impossible. The worst part of all is the NUCLEAR REACTOR WHICH RELEASES RADIATION all over this city. It's closer to the population than any other reactor in the country, has had the most unplanned shutdown, releases trillium into the reactor pond which ends up in the ground water and is a know carcinogen. Lots of brain cancers and Leukemia here. Read More

Reasonable Cost of Living - 9/29/2013
Been in PSL for 3 years now. Have nothing bad to say about it. Depending on what you are looking for, it is a fair to excellent place to live. Cost of living is low and so is the crime rate. Jobs are few and far between and the pay isnt great. However, people are friendly, mannerly and considerate...much more so than the city we came from. Housing took a major hit during the great recession & is just now beginning to rebound...but still very reasonable. Nice homes for $125k to 250k in decent neighborhoods. Lots of winter residents (snowbirds), but almost no tourists. Beaches are great and uncrowded, but only accessable via two mile-long bridges. There is nightlife but streets pretty deserted by 11pm. A nice compromise between a city and a small town. Read More

OK to visit - 5/30/2013
When you visit you'll think it would be a nice place to live. After living here you'll see how the state and city governments take advantage of the residents. Permits for everything but picking your nose, almost $300 for auto registration, gestapo code police that comb the streets (with taxpayer provided vehicles) looking for old toilets at the curb trash so they can fine you if you don't have a permit, etc... Couldn't even get outside police chief candidates to stay, because of the politics. Had a really sharp city manager that the council fired (probably viewed him as a threat to their regime). If you can stand the shenanigans, the shopping is good and the fishing is close by. Read More

life is good - 11/10/2011
I just bought a house in port st.lucie and could not be happier.I live in montreal and that is a fun city to visit but to live there is not great.I pay 30 percent income tax 15 percent sales tax and 35percent more in gas than in florida.I pay 3000 dollars a year to heat my house and spend 4 1/2 months bundled up complaining about the snow and ice and minus 15 degree temperatures. We have a provincial governement that allows our construction industry to be run by members of the mob and they are so far in debt that I do not think there is any way we could ever pay it off. They lie and hide the debt as much as possible to get re-elected and we elect them again because the only other choice is the other party that wants to split our country in two and remove all english from the province.Despite all the over taxation our governement is unable to keep our roads, bridges and overpasses safe to use,we keep having pieces of the overpasses falling down and our bridges are bad enough that they Read More
