Live here yes or no - 7/13/2009
Royal Palm does have many nice areas to live. However the neighboring cities of West Palm and Lake Worth certainly push alot of crime to the area. The public school system here needs some help! Yes the weather is nice, almost all year around. But this may not be the absolute best place to raise a Read More

Loxahatchee - 9/9/2008
The actual location is Loxahatchee, which is not on Sperling's City List. The economy has been poor here in 2007-2008 for construction, landscape nurseries, real estate, the restaurant industry, and the arts. I am seeing many residential homes, small and large retail businesses for sale (25-50%)...also seeing foreclosure and repo Read More

Royal Palm Beach - Park City - 4/8/2008
Royal Palm Beach is the best place to call home even though it's no where near a beach... I guess they should just call it Royal Palm would be more appropriate. Anyway, this small stepchild to Wellington is located just West of West Palm Beach. We have good schools, tons of new shopping centers and great restaurants. If that's not your style, we have a number of public parks with something for everyone. We are considered the Western Communities of Palm Beach County and many equestrians call Royal Palm and Wellington home. Housing is picking back up after several months of slow activity. Prices seem to be where buyers are able to afford (2001) levels. Basically 7 years of appreciation wiped out, but good news for renters who were sitting on the sidelines watching the world go by. Now it is those in the drivers seat and they are ready to buy!.

The good and bad - 3/2/2007
Royal Palm Beach is nice place to live, but it is getting very costly to live here, as is anywhere in southern FL. Taxes and homeowner's insurance are going through the roof. We pay $4000 for each, but our neighbors are paying over $7,000 in taxes for their home (recent purchase). The state government is trying to figure out a way to help, but it is too late for many.. and people are packing their bags. The beaches are 20-30 minutes at best. The growth all around is rapid. Traffic is not the best, but we are used to it. Lots of places to go and things to do close by (shopping, movies, resturants, zoo, Lion Country Safari). It is a give and take for Read More
