Living in Kingsbay! - 8/30/2010
We lived in Kingsbay Georgia from 2007 to 2010. Having lived all over the world we found the Kingsbay Georgia area the most unfriendly depressed area. Jacksonville, FL is 30 minute drive which did help. We bought a house in a gated community, our neighbors would never speak to us since we were military and they were the good old boys who had lived there all their life. It was not the southern charm I was hoping to experience. We did manage to sell our house at a huge loss. We ended up writing a check at closing, but we never want to go back to Kingsbay, Georgia and pray that we do not get orders back to the redneck capital of the United Read More

Once you make a friend of north, they will be there for through thick and thin because they know that at some point, they too will need the favor returned. Not so down here. I don't want to go back to eternal winter but I don't want to stay here either. Virginia/Maryland is starting to look really Read More

Camden life - 9/4/2008
Our family moved here a little over a year ago for the schools. Camden County Schools are College Prep, accelarated learning k-12. This year, they opened a Magnet Academy at the highschool, which is a nice add. They have a performing Arts building thats newer.
Camden County seems to be somewhat isolated and widespread. Great subdivisions and land spreads, but very few areas to safely ride a bike or walk.
For a military town, it is unusually clean and neat, people are nice. Police presence common, a relatively safe place.
Would love to see more things for kids and teens to do besides one smokey bowling alley and a movie theater.
