It's okay - 3/26/2006
I lived in Boise for 2 years after living in Seattle, Houston, Colorado Springs, and Salt Lake City. Boise was actually my least favorite city, not that it's a bad place but compared to the other cities, I just prefer the others better. I felt the way the city is growing, they were only expanding on one side of the city almost all the traffic was going the same way. I didn't like smelling cows everyday and got bored with the one good mall in the whole city. I had a hard time finding a job there and when I did, the pay was a lot lower than what I'm used too. I felt the summers were long and hot (it stays light until like 10:00 pm) and the winters were gloomy. Not as gloomy as Seattle, but at least in Seattle you have pretty trees and water too look at. In Boise you have farm after subdivision after farm w/ not many trees (which is funny because it's suppose to be the city of trees but it's not). A previous post stated that Garden City was the slum of the city and I agree with that. If

A Day in the Life at Boise/Nampa. - 2/6/2006
I am pondering on relocating my family to the Boise/Nampa area. We are outdoor enthusiast and enjoy nature at its best. After doing some research about the southwestern Idaho, it appears to offer such much, and yet ideally located between many major metro areas in all directions. For the Idahoans, can you provide us with some ideas, pros/cons, best kept secret, etc. about this location? What makes this place rise above all

We moved from Boise to Vegas - 1/30/2006
Boise is a great place to live. It is beautiful with nice houses and big green yards. The traffic is decent everywhere and the city is safe when compared to other cities.
there are no real slums, Garden City is closest you can get to a crime area and it is nothing compared to other cities.
It is a great place to raise kids and live and have dogs.
The weather is cold in the winter and nice in the summer (after you compare it with a Vegas summer of 120 degrees).
If you have the chance to lvie here, dont pass it up.

Really nice place if you don't mind four season's - 1/7/2006
We came from CA to Idaho and it has a very small town feeling. The home prices are great. This is a very family friendly state. Very clean and safe. Just would like it to be warmer. The summer here is really hot and the winter is really cold. It can be hard to get use too.
Hope this helps.
