Hagerman, Idaho is a small rural town located in Gooding County, situated on the Snake River near its mouth. The town has a population of just over 600 people but despite its size, there is plenty to do and see in Hagerman. From fishing in the river to bird-watching or exploring the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, there are many activities that visitors can enjoy. The town is also known as the “Turtle Capital of the World” because of its large population of western painted turtles.
The reviews for Hagerman are overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the friendly locals and wide variety of activities available to explore. Visitors often remark on how beautiful and peaceful it is, as well as how much they liked getting away from the hustle and bustle of cities. Most agree that it is an excellent place for families to visit, with lots of things to do that will keep kids occupied while adults relax. Most importantly, nearly everyone agrees that it's one of those places that you'll be sure to return back to someday!

Ideal Retirement Place and Quiet Living Location - 12/2/2019
I've been here now having had a home built for our retirement for about 2 years. The people here in general are exceptionally kind. It is wonderful to not even have a stop light in town. In areas outside of the main street (State St./Hwy 30) you aren't assaulted by the typical street lights which makes for a delightful lack of light pollution to see the stars at night. Town is typically very quiet in the evenings as well. There is a considerable movement towards more folks of retirement age here in town which is good for me. Having come from Utah it's a welcome change. Doctor, dentist, pharmacy and several restaurants as well as a modest market are all right here so no continuous need to commute. The air quality on most days is exceptional and our water is noted as some of the finest there is from springs supplying the city's supply. This is NOT a town you'd want to live in if you have a job to commute to. But if you're retired or can work from home it's ideal. It's too far from Twin Read More
