GREAT place to call home! - 5/1/2010
Elmhurst is a FANTASTIC town to live in. My husband and I both grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and have lived in Elmhurst for the past 5 years. We feel incredibly safe here, the houses and neighborhoods are beautiful, the people are friendly, and it's wonderful to have such good neighbors. People watch out for each other here, they teach their children to be respectful of others and things. Families are "normal" doing family activities together all the time. We don't have children, so I can't speak firsthand about the schools. There are so many parks and trails to enjoy. The police care about keeping the town safe. I truly can't say enough good things about Elmhurst. Bottom line: it's friendly, safe, tranquil, beautiful...just a GREAT place to call Read More

We've lived here for 25 years - Elmhurst, IL. By luck in 1983, we moved here. Young newlyweds, we really weren't too well versed in sizing up a community to buy a house in. The schools are great. The people are friendly. You're close to the highways that can lead you easily anywhere in Chicagoland. Crime is low. Weather in the winter isn't terrific (sorry), but if you are in this area - you have no choice. Did I say the schools were very good - I know I did. But if you are choosing a place to live and intend on raising a family - you need to look at that first and foremost. My wife is an educator and has worked in other capacities in the Read More
