good town - 7/8/2020
I grew up in Loda it's a super small town not a lot to do unless you're a farmer or a short order cook the people are generally friendly and we have lots of activities a favorite is the fish fry at the American legion post by the library the town also has a yearly celebration on the weekend of the town's founding it's a fun 2 day event that ends with fireworks and a tractor pull

it's a mostly white area that votes republican if a black person moved in most people would be fine with it there are 2 neighborhoods outside the city limits that's where a lot of families settle since there are amenities and family oriented activities

crime rate is pretty low people don't get away with crimes out here because most have security cameras and watchful neighbors Read More

Loda, Cool if you hate yourself or other people - 10/28/2019
I have lived in Loda for 2 years, and in a town 5 miles away for 6 years so I know the area pretty well.

Unless you have family here and grew up here you will not be welcomed. The town is 99.9% white and very conservative.
There is no police station and no official police at all. There is a fire station but it is all volunteer like most towns in the area. (So do not have an accident)

For such a small town the crime rate is pretty high and has been rising over the past 5 years. There are burglaries which sometimes get reported in the paper. There are also assaults and rapes which the town tends to cover up as quick as they can and do not get reported.

The town board is very corrupt. They favor their "own" and do not follow their guidelines unless you are not from here then they will find every rule in the book to fine you, smear your name, and try to run you out of town.

Unless you are very conservative, have a shotgun rack Read More
