LIke LIving In Chicago - 8/10/2009
Have lived in Oak Lawn most of my life, and its right on the perimeter of
Chicago. Actually living in Oak Lawn is basically like living in Chicago but
with a smaller population ( smaller meaning around 60,000 people).
Homes in close proximity and driving noise and congestion can be bad..
roads always seem busy but more so during rush hour.
Neighborhoods are becoming more racially diverse with african american
and musim populations moving in.
Homes are neat and tidy, all amenities
close by including the Metra which makes easy access for traveling
to downtown Chicago.
If you want an urban feel with all city amenities and downtown Chicago
close by (40 minutes drive) then this is a nice area.
Schools are good, homes modest to large, and much diversity.
Conveniences, shopping malls, restaurants all in close proximity.
The downtown area of Oak Lawn is nice and they decorate beautifully for

attractions , shopping, and restaurants the Oak Lawn is a great place.
The distance to down-town Chicago is not that far , and can be reached
via public transportation, the metra, or driving.
The governing factions keep it safe with a great police and fire
department. The down-town was just totally re-modeled with new condos,
store fronts, and landscaping. Its a nice clean and safe town, but
has more of a congested Chicago Read More
