high taxable value and too high taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 12/2/2008
My son and daughter in law live in Newaygo , Grant township. They bought the house 4 years ago and they were doing fine until the township kept raising their taxes because they didn't raise it when the former owners lived there for two years prior. Now they are having a hard time and they pay outrageous taxes and the supposed value is way to high . I don't think that is fair for the taxes to be raised because they forgot . In my opinion the area is not the best to live in. The places around the area are not maintained , they need to be cleaned up big time. The road they live on is awful ,bad holes and bumps, I used to live on a dirt road and it was not anywhere near as bad as that one.
