Overpriced, highly pretentious, lacking in diversity (race, class or ethnicity), and perfectly boring.
Positives: low crime, good schools, very little trash lying about (for metro-Detroit). Read More

Life in Northville - 1/2/2012
Northville is a fabulous place to live! Transferred from New England after researching on the internet. The rolling hills, green space, quaint downtown, and great school system sold me. Plenty of parks, walking trails, golf courses, shopping, and restaurants will appeal to young and old. Great school system with very involved parents. Conservative area with strong family values - 98% graduation rate with most destined for college - every holiday is celebrated with a traditional parade and band marching through downtown. Agree with previous comments it's a very safe place to raise a family - no crime except the occasional bike, golf clubs or radar detector stolen from an unlocked car or open garage. Fabulous location near freeways, Ann Arbor, airport, downtown Detroit. Also love proximity to Plymouth - a slightly larger downtown with all the amentities. Spring, Summer and Fall are beautiful. Summer temps mid 80's with low humidity. Winter is bearable - not extremely cold - no Read More

If you need to live in Michigan...Live here! - 5/4/2009
Located in between Ann Arbor and Detroit...Northville & Plymouth MI are two nice little towns with culture!
Both these small towns boast quaint downtowns full of historical architecture, pubs, and artsy cultural events. Northville has an extremely good school district.
Definitely produces four season climate...springtime is quite beautiful.
Families are quite into school sports. NEW Luxury Homes have dropped in price and there are many nice communities to choose from...like Stonewater off 6 mile and Beck Road which has 6 lakes for recreational use by residents.
Lots of older vintage homes for under 400k.Read More

I can't believe the crime reports!?!? - 10/29/2007
umm...I'm a little confused..I currantly reside in Plymouth, MI which is right next door to a little town called Northville. Heres the thing, you could take a walk with your child at 1:00am in Northville (not that you would, but to prove a point)and not worry about anyone bothering you, or even noticing you. You could leave your car unlocked with money sitting on the seat and no one would touch it!! So, the confusing part is why the rating for crimes are a 5 and a 6?!?! I don't know what kind of system is being used for rating, but it may be flawed. The schools are awesom, the homes are nice and even a little expensive for MI, the people are nice....i don't get it. Not to say it's the best place in the world, but it is certainly SAFE! As a mother of two girls, i can't imagine feeling safer in this Read More
