Minnesota Nice? HA! - 8/6/2008
Ive been in Minnesota almost a year now and although many people say "hey it's minnesota, it gets cold duh?" and look at you funny when you complain about the weather.....YOU HAVE NO FRICKIN IDEA unless you come and see for yourself! COLD is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I've lived in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, they both don't have JACK on how cold it gets here. I went through a week and a half of -30 to -50 degree weather. Coldest I've ever seen in my life.
As for the people....it's quite odd. The gay culture here is embraced VERY well here. Coming here from Atlanta, it's not a big deal, but it's weird being downtown and seeing a HUGE sign saying "Gay 90's" (which is a nightclub). Although Atlanta has a very large gay community, you probably wouldn't see that in the bible thumping south.
