What BestPlaces Users Say about Woodbury

Located in the southeastern part of Minnesota, Woodbury is a growing city known for its strong economy and family-friendly community. With a population of over 70,000, it offers a mix of suburban and urban living, making it an attractive place for many to call home. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in Woodbury, let's take a look at some user reviews from BestPlaces.net.

According to Jennifer, a 10-year resident of Woodbury, "This city is an ideal place to raise a family. The schools are top-notch and the community is very involved and welcoming." Similarly, Tom, who has lived in Woodbury for 5 years, shares, "I moved here for a job opportunity and have never looked back. The amenities are great and there's always something to do for people of all ages."

On the other hand, there are some mixed reviews about the cost of living in Woodbury. As Linda puts it, "The housing prices are quite high compared to other cities in the state, but the quality of life here is worth it. Plus, there are plenty of job opportunities." However, Carol, a 20-year resident, has a different perspective, stating, "The cost of living has skyrocketed in recent years and it's getting harder for middle-class families to afford to stay here."

Another aspect that many reviewers mention is the weather in Woodbury. Bob, a 15-year resident, states, "The winters can be harsh, but the city is well-prepared for snow removal and there are plenty of indoor activities to keep you busy." However, Sarah, a 3-year resident, has a different take, commenting, "I moved here from California and the winters have been tough to adjust to. But the summers are absolutely beautiful and make up for it."

Overall, it's clear that Woodbury has a lot to offer for those looking for a family-friendly and thriving community. While the cost of living may be a concern for some, the strong economy and quality of life make it a desirable place to call home. And with its location just outside of the Twin Cities, residents have easy access to urban amenities while still enjoying the perks of suburban living.

Clean, stuck up, and better than the city. - 6/24/2020
It’s nicer than being in the City. It’s Suburban, clean, pleasant, shopping and McMansions. People are stuck up, go figure. Not a down to earth place. But it’s safe here in Woodbury. Read More

Quality of life in Woodbury, Minnesota - 1/7/2012

Woodbury is an excellent place to raise a family. It is a safe and attractive community that lavishes its residents with mosts wants and needs. Woodbury is also in close proximity to Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Stillwater(a very enjoyable place to visit)is only a breath away.

Although Minnesotans must deal with cold winters, a city with so much to offer helps one make it through the harsh, winter months. Quality of life = superb in my opinion.

Minnesota nice is alive and well... - 3/24/2011
Living in the Twin Citie is simply fun. We appreciate four seasons and look forward to being outside in summer after our harsh winters. The crime rate is low, rush hours are short if intense, and we take education very seriously. People are courteous and culture abounds. There are many venues to enjoy music, theatre, and other forms of live entertainment. We pay a bit more in taxes but it's well worth it. It has been said that people are reluctant to move to Minnesota, but once they're here they never want to Read More

Woodbury's ups and downs - 2/25/2008
Let me start with the good side about living in Woodbury. First of all, there are plenty of schools. I don't send my kids there because I homeschool, but there are many of them. Our hard earned tax dollars go to those schools, but I'll talk about that in the negatives. We have an overall great living environment. There isn't much crime atleast in my neighborhood. There are lots of things for families here-dance lessons, iceskating lessons, hockey, sports, library, YMCA, to name a few. There is plenty of housing too.

The things i don't like about Woodbury is, as a stay at home mom, it is very difficult to raise a family here on one income. The taxes are raised every year to pay for schools or to add on to a Sports Center or make the land environmentally friendly. I think all of that is important to a degree, but since I do not send my kids to public school, should I get a break from paying for that? Also, I don't like how uppity Woodbury is. This is not a Read More
