A beautiful town and fabulous place to live! - 10/17/2021
I’ve lived in Festus for 3 years. It’s a beautiful town. I would describe the neighborhoods as picturesque. I love to drive around looking at all the houses and the incredible natural beauty, including massive amounts of trees and well maintained lawns.
Downtown is a cute historical little street with shops and restaurants, and the business loop has most every store and other business you’d need.
I live within walking distance to City Hall and the post office, which is down the street from The public library, which is great, and then Downtown.
There are many fun community activities with lots of participation from residents.
The schools look great from the outside and I see lots of school pride, but I don’t have kids at home, so I can’t speak to anything else about them.
There are many beautiful parks that are well maintained. I feel perfectly safe no matter what area I am in, including going for walks.
Since we moved here in mid 2018, there’s Read More

Absolutely Disgusting - 7/2/2016
The first eighteen months of living here, my property was vandalized nine times. This was done by my neighbors. They drive in my yard, do donuts with their truck in my yard, ride dirt bikes and four wheelers in my yard, spray paint phallic symbols on my property (but it is clear their reference is very small and flaccid which explains so much about them), if the car is in the driveway it will be vandalized, the license plate had the tags stolen, they throw rocks at the house and us, they yell disgusting and despicable things, and so much more. That is just the start, they do drugs openly and in my yard, they sell drugs on my property and when confronted, as the cowards they are, they wait until you are gone and then trench your yard with a work truck. Enduring all of this isn't enough as the neighbor hood association threatened me with legal action. These people make no commitments of any kind, show no moral code, have no values, pop out drug addict kids and attack, attack, Read More

Worst Place Ever - 3/20/2016
Festus Missouri makes Illinois look appealing! The assaults start before you even move in. During home inspection, the neighbor drove across the yard. Shortly after moving in, the toilet paper, trash, phallic graffiti, car vandalism and broken beer bottles smashed against the house and on the driveway just become a part of life. Don't even try to have a family event or a bonfire. That is, unless you really like being intruded upon and interrupted by the neighbors in awful ways. That isn't enough for these moral less and unscrupulous people. They yell obscenities at you and your family. The moms are the worst and will lie as well as rumor monger continuously. The driving across the yard turns into doughnuts and trenching. If you don't want drugs on your property, be prepared. The number of times I have had to chase off the pot smokers waiting to purchase drugs from the neighbor dealer have become too many. But then again, once would be too much, right? Don't move to Read More

The Smallest Towns May or May Not Be Suffering Mos - 6/28/2009
I have pride in my home-town. Born and raised here, going on nineteen years my interests and patriotism has substiantially grown for this small but growing town. I believe the community for the most part are good moral individuals and considering that i am one of them, my heart goes out to all whom are hurting economically, as we all are. I witness the effects of the dwindling economy every day and it is the strong power of hope that overpowers my displeasing pessimism. I simply wish our nation the best from the smallest towns such as my own, to the larges towns in the Beautiful United States of America. May we all prosper and live a bountiful life living the guaranteed pursuit to Read More
