You pay alot of money for nothing - 2/16/2017
we pay a lot of money to say we live On Long Island. Its insane. there is a huge divide of the North shore vs the South Shore. Lindenhurst sits on the South. I think there was so much potential to build up this town but instead like most, the greedy people in charge took their money and ran. the economy reeked havoc on us and so did Super storm Sandy. now home sales are down. store fronts are empty with FOR SALE signs every where. people coming here are very uneducated and a lot of drug activity. hoping things turn around.

Can't Afford To Stay - 9/10/2007
Housing costs have gone through the roof in recent years, to the point that seniors and young people can't afford to live on Long Island, where Lindenhurst is located. Town policies, for better or worse, and a NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) attitude amongst a vocal minority do not encourage the construction of small starter homes or affordable rentals, only "McMansions" that dwarf the other homes on the block.
