1) From user "JohnDoe", "I have lived in Cincinnati for over 10 years and I absolutely love it here. I can't imagine living anywhere else."

2) On the other hand, user "JaneSmith" shares a different experience, stating, "I moved to Cincinnati for work and have been disappointed with the lack of diversity and the high crime rates in certain areas. The cost of living is also higher than I expected. I'm looking to relocate soon."

While there are still some rough areas, overall the city is thriving and there is always something new to discover. The sports teams and riverfront area are definitely highlights."

4) Finally, user "TravelBug" shares a unique perspective, having recently moved to Cincinnati. They state, "I relocated to Cincinnati from a much larger city and I have been pleasantly surprised. The cost of living is significantly lower and there is still plenty to do. I've also noticed a strong sense of community here which has made the transition easier."

The popular notion that Cincinnati is very segregated couldn't be further from the truth. I lived in the Cleveland area for a long time before moving to Cincinnati a few years ago, and I can say with certainty that, in general, the Cincinnati area is much more racially integrated than the Cleveland area despite the fact that Cleveland is more liberal in general. Black-white couples are far more common in Cincinnati than they are in Cleveland or anywhere else that I've been, and I've been to most of the major cities in the U.S. The north-central suburban area of Cincinnati is among the most racially integrated areas I've seen Read More

Crime is ridiculous - 5/14/2006
The crime in Cincinnati is out of control, you can't turn on the news without hearing about a senseless murder. Also I would not recomend the city african americans, especailly young black men. It there is not much oppurtunity for anything but to get into trouble or end up another senseless Read More

not the best - 5/10/2006
I'm from here and recently moved back to the area. I can't wait to leave again. You pretty much have to drive everywhere so the air is really bad. Crime is going up downtown, who knows when that will get better. There isn't too much outdoorsy stuff to do. There are some bike trails, but this is not a place in balance with nature. In fact I think people care more about driving their SUVs, eating unhealthy food, and being unkind to one another than really creating a loving, healthy Read More

Not the best - 5/10/2006
I am from Cincinnati and recently moved back to the area. The city has gone down quite a bit. The crime rate is really high as well. I don't know when the downtown will recover from the riots. This is a place where most stay because their families are here. This city has terrible public transportation. You have to drive most places. If you are at all liberal, into the outdoors, desire a healthy place with quality air then don't move here. I can't wait to Read More

Life in Cincinnati - 5/7/2006
Cincinnati might be a good place for you if:
You like pro baseball and pro football (if you consider the Bengals pro anything);
You are starting a family and want to live somewhere with a nice hometown feel;
You like winters to be long and cold with very little snowfall;
You don't have allergies, but would like to develop them at some point (because everyone that lives here develops allergies at some point);
You like to live in a city setup for families (because if you are past college age and single there is nothing--I repeat nothing--to do Read More

Been here 12 years and wouldn't have it any other - 4/17/2006
Well it is unfortunate that some people seem to have sour grapes. I moved to Cincinnati 12 years ago and wouldn't have it any other way. When I moved here I was single and thought the single scene was great. I have since married and have two children and think the city offers so much for families. The Children's museum is practically my children's playground and my husband and I frequent the nice shops and restaurants downtown. There are nice carriage rides that can be found at Fountain Square and great social events to go to when we are looking to escape our lovely Read More

Moved to Cincinnati from Boston (P&G) - 3/26/2006
Thanks to Gillette selling out the city of Boston to Proctor & Gamble, I relocated to Cincinnati and I have to say so far so good. Someone below mentioned that Cincinnati wasn't a small town, well thank god. I wouldn't have moved to Cincinnati is it was a small town. I moved to a part of the city called Hyde Park and it has been quite enjoyable. While Cincinnati is not as large as Boston, I have been content with the amenities and the surprising hilliness of the region. And here I thought the Midwest was boring and flat? Well at least that isn't the case here. So far I have witnessed a nice array of ethnic restaurants, acceptable sushi for an inland city. I recommend Beluga and Teak Thai for sushi. The architecture is gorgeous and old like Boston although the city lacks a good subway system although there are talks of using some existing subway tunnels that have never been used lately. Unlike another review, the people here have been very welcoming. Another thing, I have Read More

Don't Move Here! - 3/26/2006
I have lived in Southern and Northern cities where someone with Leprosy would be more accepted then an outsider is in Cincinnati. The city is divided into two areas, "Eastside" and "Westside." It is a bizzare phenomenon that the natives live by, such as a creed. And watch out for the "nicey-nice", sarcastic persona of the people because they are spiteful, scornful and bigoted. The city lacks culture, diversity, progressivenss, tolernace and idenity. The public schools in the Metro Area are a travesty and will continue in that vain due to the complacent nature of the people. Private and "religous" schools thrive here, which perpetrates the cycle of injustice, indigenous behavior and Read More
