As midwest as you would want to get... - 2/25/2010
I live in Cincinnati, after having lived in Atlanta for about 14 years, and I have decided it is as far into the midwest as I would want to go. The city is big enough to support two professional sports teams, a great zoo, museums, diverse restaurants, a nice geographical profile near a major river, and still close enough to the South to make other regions accessible. The weather isn't terrible, but could be warmer in the winter! I like the historical value of the city and the art deco style that can be

Quality of Life - 1/9/2010
Could be better. Cincinnati looks great on paper. Anything and everything you could ever want is here. The data report card numbers paint a different picture, however, and a more realistic one. Cincinnati is not a tidy city. Air quality, trash/garbage, clutter, crime, increasing street-urban experience, attitude and clannish preferences can all be off-putting and worse. In the city and more urban areas,Cincinnatians can present as angry, harsh and rude. It is not the norm for people to make eye contact and smile, nod or speak. In the greater Cincinnati area, most people interact with their own families or a few friends in their own areas. There is a deep divide between the East side and West side with I75 as the dividing line. It is hard to gain acceptance into established and defined groups.
On the positive side, there are efficiencies. Drivers will often yield. People do not usually cut you off. You can strike up a basic conversation with people when you are out and

Theres nothing to do here in cincinnati, ohio - 12/13/2009
I was born and raise here in cincinnati, ohio and I have to say when I move to woodbridge, va the cost of living was high but at least it was jobs and sightseeing and things to do there. Here in cincinnat, ohio theres no jobs or very low paying jobs and theres nothing to do here. I have to go out of town to find something to do. Since I been back here public transportation is bad and you always have to drive everywhere you go. Yes its true there is P&G and major companies here at least if you white or educated they wont even hired you. At least I know Virginia was higher cost of living than ohio but at least I had better oppurtunies and jobs than here. This is sad that I have to return to such prejudices and very racist state. I see cincinnati, ohio is never going to change. I just hope and pray when I get my degree I just move back to virginia or somewhere else. I see things will never change

NOTHING! no jobs, no night life, nowhere to go. you can't even get in car and ride around town and site see. its nothing to see. they try to hype fountain square. please! to do anything you have to go over to covington ky to do a little something. if you want to hear some good jazz you have to go to columbus, ohio or go out of cinti. white folks here don't want black entertainment to come here. they have the police to hound you. its just boring here. me and my wife and kids came back because our parents was very
