1) From user "JohnDoe", "I have lived in Cincinnati for over 10 years and I absolutely love it here. I can't imagine living anywhere else."

2) On the other hand, user "JaneSmith" shares a different experience, stating, "I moved to Cincinnati for work and have been disappointed with the lack of diversity and the high crime rates in certain areas. The cost of living is also higher than I expected. I'm looking to relocate soon."

3) Another user, "CincyNative", gives a local perspective, saying, "I was born and raised in Cincinnati and I have seen the city go through some major changes. While there are still some rough areas, overall the city is thriving and there is always something new to discover. The sports teams and riverfront area are definitely highlights."

4) Finally, user "TravelBug" shares a unique perspective, having recently moved to Cincinnati. They state, "I relocated to Cincinnati from a much larger city and I have been pleasantly surprised. The cost of living is significantly lower and there is still plenty to do. I've also noticed a strong sense of community here which has made the transition easier."

Locals make it better than "outsiders" - 11/29/2008
I've been here since the beginning of January, 2007. I agree with others that Cincinnati is a pretty rough place to immerse yourself in as far as social networking goes. I think what many people have to understand is, you have a lot of public schools, and also a whole lot of private catholic schools. And then, you move on to either UC (University of Cincinnati) or Xavier University, a private school. Then, move on to either a graduate degree or work for the company your mommy or daddy works at. Most of these can be found in downtown, like Fifth Third Bank, PNC Bank, URS (defense contractor?), Proctor and Gamble, Federated Department Stores, and some others.

I believe that Cincinnati has a plethora of mama's boys and daddy's girls who just can't find the courage to leave and explore what else is out there. They've had that comfort all of their life, so why give it up once it's time to enter college, or even the real world? Cincinnatians I've talked to acknowledge Read More

Cincinnati has changed - 11/1/2008
After living in Cincinnati for 15 years, I relocated to another state in the late 90s. I recently returned to Cincinnati for a new job. Cincinnati has changed, and not for the better. Downtown is dead, the urban decay along I-75 North leading out of the city is an eyesore and no one seems very cheerful or enthusiastic about living here. After being laid off, I am focusing all energy on getting out of here! I hate this boredom.

P.S. Someone here suggested I am left-leaning politically because I recycle.  Read More

Cincinnati Face Lift - 10/29/2008
Cincinnati's historic homes are receiving a face lift in some of the older neighborhoods such as Over the Rhine in order to attract more young professionals to live downtown and businesses to open their doors downtown, unfortunately the progress has been slow if at all due to crime ridden Read More

Quality of Life - 10/18/2008
Very low cost of living, fairly good quality of life. It is great to wake up in the morning in my condo across the river in Covington, have breakfast and walk down the street to grab some coffee while watching the sun rise over the carew tower, then head to my job at Procter and Gamble in my car with no traffic problems. At night I go to Newport, as they have a good nightlife scene there. Everyone here is happy, and I moved here from Indianapolis, and I love how much more soul this city has. In January, my family had to go to Italy as I still have family that lives there and there was a death. Going to a small city in Italy is a big deal, and we were not ready for it. I bought to Delta tickets right out of CVG, drove 15 minutes to the airport with my family, relax in CVG for an hour and get to my family's hometown in Italy with 1 connection. There is no city where this deal could have been Read More

Thats the most in the midwest(tied with minneapolis) Procter and Gamble is based in the city, and this company is one of the most influential corporations in the country. We have Great American insurance headquartered here, Kroger Grocers, Fifth third, Scripps Corporation and dozens of other large companies. New business opportunities will be moving in the our new 660 foot skyscraper, and we have a very large radio station based in this city. Good Place To live, but it is a big city - 10/18/2008
When people move to Cincinnati, they often think of a small city and start comparing to towns like traverse city, michigan or topeka, ks, but they don't do the research, so when they move here and hear about homicides on the news, and finally find out there is crime here, they seem to be astonished. CINCINNATI IS A BIG CITY!!!!! Its population says it is 330,000, but this is just the actual downtown which is rather small. If you go across the river, there is Covington, KY, which is one of the largest cities in Kentucky with around 100,000 residents. The MSA population is almost 2.2 million. That is bigger than Indy, Cleveland, and Columbus. Cincinnati is very deceptive in its size. With the size of the city, there is obviously going to be some crime. The metropolitan as well as the city is growing very much, which is obviously going to cause some growing pains. Life here is very good, and crime is reasonable for the size of Cincy.I love Queen Read More

Cincinnati a GREAT Place to live! - 9/7/2008
I have lived in the Cincinnati area since I was 2 years old. I have lived in Sharonville, West Chester, Wyoming, and now live in Evendale. Cincinnati has alot of great places to go and lots to do with your family and friends. We are close to many attrations such as Kings Island Amusement Park, the Children's Museum, the Aronnoff Center, Zoo, Newport Aquarium, great public Parks,a variety of resturants, theatres, and shopping areas, etc.
Evendale School is a great school and our community has so many great children's programs and services that many other communities cannot and do not offer. There is no housing shortage in Cincinnati suburbs and you can get a great house for a reasonable price compared to other areas.

I believe Cincinnati is a great place to live or I would not still be living here after 36 years and now raising my family here! I'm sure if you moved to the area you would find the perfect community to live in. There are alot of areas to Read More

Quality City, Quality People, Quality of Life - 6/26/2008
Cincinnati is a great city to raise a family. It is not a city for singles. The west side is very catholic and has a church festival every weekend throughout the spring and summer. I have lived in Los Angeles, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Grand Rapids, Denver, Cheyene, Atlanta and Washington D.C.and have been in Cincinnati for 30 years. Cincinnati offers family entertainment hosting a world-class zoo, art museums, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, Xavier Basketball, University of Cincinnati Football and Basketball, Aronoff Center for the Arts, Playhouse in the Park, Krohn Conservatory, Kings Island, Chili Fest, Taste of Cincinnati, Greek Fest, Party in the Park every Wednesday throughout the spring and summer, the largest Octoberfest outside of Munich, Germany, and the largest fireworks display in the country on Labor Day. There are B&B Riverboats for dinner and lunch cruises on the Ohio River. The "Banks" development between the two Read More
