A Wonderful Place to Visit! - 7/10/2011
There is a charm to this little cobblestone community that makes it a place well worth your time. Located in the Wichita Mountains in Southwest Oklahoma, this small town was created for the tourist in mind, although more and more are opting to live here, as evident in the new housing developments.
Medicine Park has a rich history full of interesting people like outlaws (Jesse James) and movie stars (Dale Evans and Roy Rogers honeymooned here). It is also home to artists, musicians, and an eclectic mix people who prefer quiet living amongst the mountains and trees.
This tiny town is relatively quiet during the weekdays, although a handful of shops stay open all through the week. The Old Plantation stays open daily and they serve a wonderful steak. Other restaurants are open usually from Wednesday on through Sunday. The Buffalo Bistro, Las Montanas, and The Riverside Cafe all serve good food. Other places to have a treat are Medicine Park Ice Cream and Candy Read More

Cobblestone Resort Mountain Town Bordering the Nat - 3/19/2009
We have lived in Medicine Park for almost 7 years. We live on a mountain road and have a great view which is a mile from the center of town. (you pick up your mail at the Post Office there is no home delivery). Medicine Creek runs through the center of town with an old fashioned swimming hole, Bath Lake, where trout is stocked yearly. We have 4 eateries, a tavern, 2 bars and a winery (but no traffic lights). Small cobblestone shops line the main street. Many of the original cobblestone cottages still exist in town. People that live here either work in nearby Lawton or work out of there home. Because of its resort classification the weekends are busy but during the week it quiets down. Plenty of areas to walk or bike. Located near Ft.Sill and its artillery does produce some big noises at unpredictable times but the majority time it is quiet. The Park has many events including 2 music festivals that take place in the street, a street theatre and old time fun like the polar bear plunge, Read More
