Sammamish is honestly a wonderful place to live. It's perfect for a family who wants a comfortable entertaining suburban life. The schools are pretty great, as I can say from spending grade 3-12 here (I just graduated Eastlake HS).
It's really beautiful here. Everywhere you are surrounded by green trees and grass and when the tress aren't in the way you can see the beautiful snowy mountains. The only thing that isn't great is the weather, but you get used to it. It really isn't all THAT rainy here. The real problem is that it is cloudy all the time and we don't see sunshine all that often.
This is a great place to live if you're health-conscious, liberal, hipster, etc. I'm conservative and I still enjoy living here, so don't let that aspect stop you. Sammamish is secluded enough that you won't be disturbed by "city noises" or lots of traffic, but it is really close to tons of cities that have any entertainment that you want, including the main place for all

Sammamish is a nice safe place to raise a family. Lots of career opportunities w/ Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, Starbucks and others in the area. Great schools in the area as well as excellent state universities. I love being near the beautiful lakes, ski mountains, Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean.
