Summers are wonderful here, highs in the low 80's and sunny skies. But you might enjoy only 8 weeks or so of such weather. The rest of the year is cool with a light drizzel, interupted by occasional sunbreaks. Winter is mild though, with temps below the 30's pretty rare. The air is very clean

People are well read. They appreciate a sunny day - 10/5/2008
A walk around Greenlake will give any new comer, or someone thinking about moving to Seattle, a very good overview of who we are. People rush each morning to the nearest coffee house. Most of us are not rude. We all want one of our professional sports teams to be world champions. We want our childern to be safe, and develope socially, and academically. The air quality is argueably the best in the nation. We have a lot of trees, and greenery hence the O2 is good. We tend to drive too much, and someday our public transportation will give us the choice of getting off the highways.
There are too many junk food stops, but we like to stay in shape. Our homes cost too much, and our big homegrown Bank WAMU lost site of how to qreed is a bad thing by giving away money to poorly qualified borrowers. Now they are JP Morgan, and their stock is a penny stock. We have Paul Allen. He built a great Rock, and Roll museum aka EMP. It is awesome. We also Have Microsoft, and Bill Gates is leading a

Crime - 10/4/2008
It is a shame that we have a tolerance for the type of crime that affects all people and is being allowed to grow like a cancer in our communities.
What am I talking about? INTIMIDATION! There is a obvious style of promoting fear and at the least,stress promoting dress and behavior. I have had conversation with many friends and aquaintances that believe the same. What is this style or behavior? Take a good hard evaluation look at what INTIMIDATION dress and behavior is in this community....Dark sunglasses at night (not the blind) hooded sweat clothes, jackets in black (pulled up over heads) during hot weather, crotch grabbing while looking directly into bystanders eyes without expression, just a stare. Language from our youth (10-25) speaking *&%^#@*&**%#! in a Theatre, Mall, School, Restaurant etc. without the slightest concern for anyone within hearing distance, including young children and elderly, or anyone. Why do we not say something when we hear the "F word, the "B"

If you are thinking of moving here, I would highly advise against it. Seattle is or rather used to be a fantistic place to live, before "Sunset" magazine reported what a great place it was. Ever notice when someone is telling you of all the great places to live, it is never where they live? That's because it is like giving some place the "kiss of death". Yes, we do have a better than normal educated population. {After all, we've always known what a great place we were living in}. The majority of the poplation were natives and it was very friendly, yes, even to outsiders! After Sunset's artical however, it seemed like every low life, opportunistic, or developement crazy started to move here, especially Californicators and East Coast Snobs. They all talked about the terrible things they had left behind and immediatly started trying to change it back into that exact place, all the while making a dollar off of every thing in sight.
