My wife and I relocated here over a year ago from the south(Georgia). There's alot to say about southern hospitality but a midwestern attitude is right up there. The folks here are hard working, very down to earth and, some of the most friendliest, helpful people you will ever meet. The community is actively growing with it's education programs, sports, fishing and transportation. De Pere is beautiful. We believe the weather keeps some people from relocating here but it has four seasons, winter being one of them and there's so much to do then. Shopping, hospitals, clinics, walking areas, parks are abundant and very accessible. Low humidity, lots of sunshine and cool breezes are here and you should be too. Read More

This is a town I love. This is a town that is built for cycalist(weather permitting) The roundabouts can be confusing at times, but the dinning experance in DePere is second to none with my favorite Hot Dog and BBQ stop Pasquale's International Cafe. You are right in between green bay and Appleton so shopping is convenante  Read More

De Pere is a great place to raise a family. great schools, very low crime, and overall good quality of life. main drawback is weather (3 months of warm weather) and lack of things to do. given that, best place to live in the green bay area. i still miss florida and would love to move back there again some day Read More

De Pere / Green Bay Area Weather - 2/18/2008
oh joy! 53 out of the last 80 days we've had snow. ya-hoo!

it's been below zero for a high a couple days recently, & when i look at the "weather pattern" map, it shows wisconsin as being right in the middle of the ugliest mass of white.

it's freezing & completely ugly here! a few winters recently hadn't been so bad... a couple times it didn't snow until january (& i couldn't have been happier!), but this year has taken the cake.

this portion of the state gets very little of available sunlight. i don't know if it's related to the great lakes or what, but it's overly cloudy....much of the time.

you can't even depend on a summer day to be nice! sometimes it'll rain all day. i know becuz i do a lot of camping, & you notice the weather a lot then. the humidity is horrid, any time it gets over about 83-84 degrees (i once heard someone on a weather report talking about how it at times is more humid here than in florida).

Wonderful Gem! - 6/15/2007
I almost hate to write this, because DePere is such a sweet little place and I don't want it to change. I love this community. Very active citizens. Everybody's out walking or biking as soon as the weather permits (meaning not freezing below zero or snowy). Sidewalks help with that. Excellent schools and the community is always accepting of the need to improve or build new schools. There is some divison between East and West Depere (Fox River divides town), the east side is larger and newer and the west side is more homey and quaint. St Norbert's College (on the west side) is an outstanding liberal arts college, with a beautiful campus that borders on the river. Both sides of the town boast cute and interesting little shops on Main Streets. This town can't be Read More
