Was pretty . Climate change . Pollution and drugs. - 11/9/2021
Moved here four years ago. People from Wisconsin are nice. Town is polluted. Water is polluted. There is a lot of crime and meth use that the city hides. Too much drug use for such a small town. Pandemic made it much worse. City is trying to ruin and tear down the only nice things about this place is remoteness and nature. Cancer rate is second highest in state and getting worse. I wouldn’t move children in here. Probably moving some place cleaner. Real estate people are so desperate they’ll tell you anything. Read More

Rhinelander - 4/15/2013
After the Army I moved back to Wisconsin and completed my degree in Forestry and criminal Justice I moved to Rhinelander as a Park Ranger. It is a touristy type of town. The only time we see an influx of population is any holiday, like 4th of July, Labor Day, and the Opening of Fishing and Hunting Season. So if you are a fan of the great outdoors and the Northwoods then this is a town for you. Also it is a very friendly community. Winters can get a bit harsh around here and dip below freezing for weeks on end and and we have snow on the ground sometime till mid May, but the summers are wonderful. 80's to 90's all day. Just remember your sunscreen and also bring plenty of DEET or the mosquietos will carry you away.  Read More

I have been living in Rhinelander for a year now, and I love it! I can ride my bike anywhere I want to go....garage sales to Menards to Super Walmart, Home depot...and my favorite, GOODWILL!!! It's a friendly town, quiet,...several nice parks, including HODAG park, which has a beach, boat landing, picnic facilities, and spacious lawns. I guess you could say, it's got a lot of everything you'd want in a medium size Read More

education - 2/28/2008
Having recently moved back to Wisconsin with my family of five, with three young children, i am certainly impressed with the quality of education in and around the Rhinelander school district, as compared to another (un-named )state i recently lived in. Rhinelander's curriculum, from my point of view, is far more advanced and helpful to a young student just starting out in America's schools. The approach is far more in favor of having the child responsible for his or her own actions and education, which in turn leads to greater confidence and enthusiasm for growth in learning. As I am a somewhat new parent, i only have these two cities/states to compare, but the differences are quite Read More
