One of my faves - 9/5/2021
I've visited Cody 3 times in the last 6 years and plan to return next year. Everyone is friendly. Food is great. Motels are clean. Restaurants are great too. Entertainment is out of this world. Although I am not a rodeo person, I do love the old west and love to sight-see all the historical areas in and around Cody. I highly recommend Cody as a vacation spot. Read More

I’d move tomorrow if I could - 7/5/2021
I’ve lived in Cody for 9 years. It’s pretty, but the wind blows here about 80 mph constantly. It’s depressing. There’s not enough snow here to do anything in winter, not enough snowmelt to raft past June, not enough amenities to make it through the 9 month winters. Everyone has turned their ****ty rentals into Airbnb’s, housing prices are through the roof, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a job that offers health insurance. Too many barriers for entry here. Look elsewhere Read More

Great place to be - 6/27/2018
Cody is a great place to live. I'm on this site looking for some information and notice 3 reviews by the same person over a 10 year period who doesn't even live in town (close but not the same) complain about what a terrible place it is - after 10 years if you still don't like it move. Read More

Avoid like the plague - 8/29/2017
Avoid this money trap like the plague, few decent paying jobs, high cost of living, and way too many snobby RINO's...not to mention bigot transplants. There are a lot better places to live than this tourist Read More

Cody's climate - 3/27/2016
I do not understand how Cody's climate can be better rated than a beach town in southern CA. Sperling's rating 90 Cody and 54 for Laguna Niguel CA. It is much hotter in the summer and colder in the winter in Cody. Cody seems like a great place but what's up with rating it seems ridiculous. I think Cody is a great place, please provide some rational Read More

Cody, Wyoming - 3/1/2013
Cody is a tourist town in a predominately agricultural/ranching area. Winter weather is milder than the rest of the state and remarkably pleasant most of the time with the exception of windy days. It has a very short growing season so greenup is really welcome when it Read More

RINO's aplenty - 11/14/2011
Cody is NOT a good place to live, regardless what others say. They have jumped on the tax & spend bandwagon lately wanting more and more expensive pork barrel projects for a few select people. These RINO's complain daily about Liberals and their tax & spend ways, yet turn right around and do that very thing. There is no fair & balanced news or politics in Cody,or the rest of Park County. It's either my way or the highway.Too many rich transplants have infested Cody, and other towns in the area, thereby driving up housing prices and rents to ridiculous levels. There are very few good paying jobs anymore as most business's cater to these rich bigots who have taken over.Do yourself a favor and avoid this town, and others in the area, like the plague.  Read More

Good Place to Live - 1/2/2011
Cody is a wonderful place to live, especially if you enjoy outdoor activities. The cost of living is lower than many places with similar offerings--just check Sperling's information. The weather is great year-round, but it gets windy which is something to deal with, especially in the middle of winter when it's already cold. The shopping is adequate for a town of this size and the medical community is awesome, especially our regional hospital. If you can't find what you need here, the drive to Billings is not bad. The only negative can be some of the 'old-timers' attitudes about the changes they see and they tend to blame newcomers for just about all their problems. To be fair, these types are only a small number and most Codyites are really nice and welcoming. It's a great place to raise kids and the schools are good. Cody always has something going on so your level of involvement in the community is up to you---you won't be bored unless you choose to be! The suggestion to Read More

Summer in Cody - 4/25/2010
Cody has amazing weather in summer-- warm days, quick rainstorms, breezes. The sunsets here are the stuff movies are made of. The silhouettes of the mountains are magical, the cloud-puffed skies are like a perfect picture Read More

Cody is Beautiful - 9/18/2007
Cody is a beautiful little city near the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park. There are lots of outdoor activities like rafting, hiking, skiing and snowmobiling. Be careful if your visiting, the air is pretty thin here. We get lots of tourists in the hospital. If you visit and you want to move here, you might find a good job first. I know lots of people who have moved here because of the scenery, but not been able to find a job. If you are willing to do housekeeping or work in a restaurant there's probably work for you. Our downtown is quickly filling with art galleries, and some say Cody is the new Jackson Hole. I sure hope not! It's way too expensive Read More
