1. "I have lived in Dickinson County for the past 10 years and I absolutely love it. The people are so welcoming and the sense of community is strong. The cost of living is affordable and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, especially during the summer months. However, the winters can be tough with heavy snowfall, so make sure to bundle up!" - Sarah123

Plus, the cost of living is very reasonable compared to other cities in Michigan. The only downside is that job opportunities are limited, so be prepared to commute if you work outside of the county." - JohnDoe83

3. "I moved to Dickinson County for the job opportunities and I have not been disappointed. The economy here is stable and there are a variety of industries, from healthcare to manufacturing. The community is also very welcoming and I have made some great friends here. The only issue I have is the long, cold winters, but that's just part of living in the Upper Peninsula." - EmilySmith22

4. "I have lived in Dickinson County my whole life and I can't imagine living anywhere else. The natural beauty here is breathtaking and there's always something to do, whether it's hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter. The community is also very tight-knit and everyone looks out for each other. However, I do wish there were more cultural events and diversity in the area." - OutdoorEnthusiast99

Come on vacation, leave on probation - 3/2/2018
It's a nice place to visit, but I would not want to die there. I lived there between 1975 - 1983 and moved out within a week of graduating from college.

It has no local economy to speak of other than logging and tourism. Jobs requiring a college degree are far and few in between. You have to leave there to get a college degree (I went to Houghton) and since you're gone if you're smart you'll stay gone.

I visit there because I still have family there. For the love of God I can't figure out why. It does have beautiful scenery and outdoor activities but not much else.

My wife will only go there in the summer time. She doesn't care for the winter weather.

It has a hospital called DCH (Dickinson County Hospital) but the locals say the initials stand for "Don't Come Here"

I prefer Detroit over Dickinson County. What does that tell you?
