What BestPlaces Users Say about Arizona

Arizona is a southwestern state known for its warm climate, stunning landscapes, and diverse population. Many people are drawn to live in Arizona for its outdoor activities, affordable cost of living, and booming job market. However, like any state, it also has its drawbacks. With this command, I will summarize and include excerpts from user reviews about living in Arizona to provide a comprehensive overview of the pros and cons of residing in this particular place.

User Review #1: "I've lived in Arizona for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The weather is perfect for most of the year and there's always something to do, whether it's hiking, going to events, or trying out new restaurants. The cost of living is also very reasonable compared to other states." - Sarah T.

User Review #2: "I moved to Arizona for a job opportunity and have been pleasantly surprised by the welcoming community and diverse culture. However, the summers can be brutal with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, and the traffic can be frustrating at times." - Michael R.

User Review #3: "Arizona is a great place for retirees with its low taxes and abundance of golf courses. However, the lack of public transportation and limited cultural opportunities can make it feel isolating for younger individuals." - Lisa M.

User Review #4: "Living in Arizona has been a mixed experience for me. The natural beauty is unbeatable, but the constant development and urban sprawl can be overwhelming. Also, the healthcare system here is not the best and I've encountered some issues with it." - David J.

Living in Oregon - 4/23/2008
Living in Oregon is great and I would want to stay here if it were not for the fact I now have a dog and for the housing costs being a bit much now that I'm retired and on a fixed income. I want a bit less rain so I don't have to walk the dog in the rain during the fall/winter/spring and sometimes summer. The people here are great, there's lots to do, it's beautiful and if not for the dog, and housing costs and the property taxes I wouldn't even consider moving. So...I just want to do some research and see what else is out there. I may choose to stay or I may find something eventually that says, check this place out, it just might work for you and the Read More

Illegal Immigration and Drugs - 9/23/2007
I was born and raised in the Valley of the Sun and never thought I would leave here. Unfortunately that has changed in the past 3-4 years as the crime rate has gone up drastically.

There is a shortage of police officers, a large amount of illegal immigrants, an epidemic of meth use, and a higher number people escaping their third strike moving here. I am looking for a safer, more family-oriented area to move to. I no longer want to raise my children Read More

ARIZONA - 7/16/2007
Yes, it is blistering hot in the summers but the winters are well worth it if one gets through the summer.
People view AZ as desert but it has mountains and four climates (if you live in the high country...mountains). Arizona is rated as number one for buying of pleasure boats in America.

It is a convenient travel hop to Vegas, LA, San Diego, New Mexico, Texas, Washington state and Sonora Mexico.

It has a lot of history dealing with the move West, gold rush and mining.

As a travel destination it is noted for the Red Rocks of Sedona and Spas.

The next Super Bowl will be played at the new University of Phoenix Stadium (home of the Cardinals).

Arizona - 7/9/2007
I have lived in Arizona for about 7 years now. I have lived in CA, IA, MN, PA and AZ. Of all the places, Arizona is my favorite. California was beautiful, especially where I lived (Newport Beach), but the cost of living is out of control and there are simply too many people there. There is plenty to do in Phoenix and the availability of other recreational activities in the state is tremendous. There are so many beautiful places in the state to visit. The summers are hot, but I think you get used to them. Plus, you can get to the highlands, just an hour or two North of here to cool off. And I will definitely trade freezing cold winters for the hot summers Read More
