What BestPlaces Users Say about Arizona
Arizona is a southwestern state known for its warm climate, stunning landscapes, and diverse population. Many people are drawn to live in Arizona for its outdoor activities, affordable cost of living, and booming job market. However, like any state, it also has its drawbacks. With this command, I will summarize and include excerpts from user reviews about living in Arizona to provide a comprehensive overview of the pros and cons of residing in this particular place.
User Review #1: "I've lived in Arizona for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The weather is perfect for most of the year and there's always something to do, whether it's hiking, going to events, or trying out new restaurants. The cost of living is also very reasonable compared to other states." - Sarah T.
User Review #2: "I moved to Arizona for a job opportunity and have been pleasantly surprised by the welcoming community and diverse culture. However, the summers can be brutal with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, and the traffic can be frustrating at times." - Michael R.
User Review #3: "Arizona is a great place for retirees with its low taxes and abundance of golf courses. However, the lack of public transportation and limited cultural opportunities can make it feel isolating for younger individuals." - Lisa M.
User Review #4: "Living in Arizona has been a mixed experience for me. The natural beauty is unbeatable, but the constant development and urban sprawl can be overwhelming. Also, the healthcare system here is not the best and I've encountered some issues with it." - David J.

I"VE LIVED HERE FOR 31 YEARS, and everyone's revie - 8/31/2008
I'm 40 years old now and grew up on a dirt road in East Mesa when I was young, have lived all over the east valley since high school and have settled in Chandler (for now) with my wife and 2 young kids. My parents moved out here from Cleveland, Ohio in 1977 to get away from the cold, pollution, crime and politics, and because they fell in love with the American Southwest's culture, its history, promise, and wide-open spaces. People who review Arizona are referring mainly to the Phoenix metro area, or "The Valley of the Sun". There is only one major city outside of The Valley, Tucson. The rest of the better known Arizonan cities, such as Flagstaff, are more like large towns. The Valley's population has doubled since the late 70's, where the majority of the population increase has taken place within the last 10 years. Most of the newcomers are Californian, although I've met quite a few people from the Pacific Northwest, the upper East Coast, Texas, Colorado, the Dakotas, and some

Phoenix - 7/26/2008
Love Phoenix - sometimes. Not as much as I used to. Getting larger all the time so have lots of cultural events and places, bikeing, hiking, river tubing, lakes, large and small city parks. Even the heat in the summer can be handled since it's mostly air in the home to air in the car to air in the store/musuem/library or wherever. Don't like the multilingual advertising signs and all the crying about civil rights. If you don't want to live by the laws in the USA, why did you come here? No other country treats non natives or illegials as well as the USA does and Az seems to go over board to please the illegials. So fed up with that and looking to get back to USA

Why do all the "newbies" complain so much about Ph - 7/24/2008
Because they haven't seen anything outside of the metro area. Most have been here 4-5 years and have not gotten farther than Lake Pleasant. There is so much more to Arizona than Phoenix. In fact Phoenix IS NOT a good "poster child" for Arizona tourism. It might be the least attractive thing about Arizona. But Phoenix is still new to this whole "being a legit destination" thing. It is a city that has little, or no history. Give it a chance, it has ALOT of

The "Alcoholic" State - 5/25/2008
I've lived here in AZ for a total of 4 years and I can honestly say that the only thing keeping me here is my job. Originally from CT, job opportunities were slim pickings so when my boyfriend's parents moved out here and invited me I was ecstatic. I'm a non-drinker, and all I can say is that is all that this state thrives on especially if your are between the age of 16-50 (I'm 27).The DUI laws are really strict here because of the many accidents resulting from all of the drunks behind the wheel with too much open road in their hands.
If you enjoy going to the beach, guess what there are'nt any here(duh, it's the desert), but there are a few man made lakes scattered throughout AZ, and oh, you can drive 2.5 hours to see the Grand Canyon if that floats your boat. Other than that, to really get some entertainment you will take an 8 hour drive or a short plane flight to Vegas or L.A. People here are quite fake also, personality and physically speaking so use the term "friend"

For housing questions in Arizona just ask The Ariz - 5/12/2008
Yes, I am one, actually third generation native. My family has been in Arizona since it was a territory and I am very familiar with many aspects of the state. Unlike many parts of the country Arizona has a steady flow of people moving here. The home sales in Maricopa County have been steadily increasing since the low of 2,877 in January 2008. If you're considering moving to Arizona I strongly suggest you find a real estate professional that knows the city and county as well as the neighborhood you're interested in. Not every area is rebounding as well as the

The new world - 5/9/2008
For economic opportunity, I moved to Phoenix in 1984 from Michigan. Most of the Michigan economy was subject to the ups and downs of the Auto Industry, and seems to be even more so today. AZ is a "right to work" state and I was attracted to that.
I see Phoenix as one of the new ecomonic regions of our great country. Most of the people and many of the growing businesses here are relatively new and very diversified. When one sector of the AZ economy has a cyclical downturn, like home construction for example, this deversity shows itslef with growth in another area, such as aerospace or Bio technology.
300 + days of sunshine is a nice bonus
