What BestPlaces Users Say about Florida

Florida is a popular state known for its warm climate, beaches, and theme parks. However, it is also home to diverse communities and offers a variety of lifestyles. Many people consider moving to Florida, but with its large size and numerous cities, it can be overwhelming to decide on a specific place to live. BestPlaces.net provides a platform for users to share their experiences and opinions about living in different places. Here are four user reviews that offer insights and perspectives on living in Florida.

- According to "Samantha T.", who lives in Tampa, "Florida has been my home for the past ten years and I couldn't be happier. The weather is beautiful, the beaches are stunning, and there are endless activities to do. However, the cost of living can be quite high, especially in popular cities like Tampa. But the job opportunities and quality of life make it worth it." This highlights the appeal of Florida's natural beauty and activities, but also the potential trade-off of a higher cost of living.
- "John D." from Miami shares a different perspective, stating, "I've lived in Miami my whole life and I love it. The cultural diversity, food, and nightlife are unbeatable. However, the traffic and congestion can be a nightmare, and the cost of living is constantly rising. But for me, the pros outweigh the cons." This review showcases the unique aspects of Miami and the potential downsides of living in a busy city.
- In contrast, "Emily G." who resides in Gainesville says, "I moved to Gainesville for college and ended up staying for the community. It's a college town, so there's always something going on. But it's also a great place for families. The housing is affordable and there are plenty of parks and outdoor spaces to enjoy." This review offers a perspective on a smaller, more family-friendly city in Florida, highlighting its affordable housing and community atmosphere.
- Lastly, "Mike R." from Orlando shares, "Orlando is a great place to live for families and young professionals alike. The job market is booming, the cost of living is reasonable, and the weather is fantastic. Plus, having Disney World and Universal Studios as your backyard doesn't hurt." This review showcases the appeal of Orlando as a well-rounded city with various job opportunities and entertainment options.

In summary, Florida offers a diverse range of options for those considering a move. The reviews by Samantha, John, Emily, and Mike provide valuable insights and personal experiences on living in different cities within the state. The common themes of weather, cost of living, job opportunities, and entertainment are highlighted, giving a well-rounded view of what living in Florida entails.

Orlando, FL relocation - 2/15/2011
As another former Californian, I think you need to consider your values when considering a move to any of Florida. As some of the other posts noted, the schools might be an issue if you have small kids, (or plan on it.) Most of FL is more like another country than just another state. If you're Ok with that, the tax picture will make you happy. Certainly less than you're used to in CA. The weather? That's a personal preference. Crime is not any worse than big cities in CA, but the metro areas do have their problems. Overall, it's a personal Read More

moving to Orlando? - 12/3/2010
DO NOT MOVE TO ORLANDO,FL. the schools here not that good. when I moved here with my family back in 2001 from NY, we were appalled to find out that the schools here were rated #48/49 out of all the fifty states because there's just too much spanish kids who can't read, speak and understand English. Also, if you are not bilingual, you can't get no jobs and also, this is not the state for educated black people. I am highly considering moving back to NY or North Carolina. Florida is only good for vacationing and touring...that's it. Good Read More

Too much heat, too much humidity, too many people! - 11/18/2010
I have lived in the Jacksonville Florida area since I was 10 years old and I am now past the 50 year old mark. The weather here is intolerable during the last spring through early fall months because of the heat and humidity. I don't know if it's my age or an actual change in the temperature because of global warming or what but, it's almost to the point where you break out sweating as soon as you walk out your front door. It gets so hot during the summer months temperature wise, then add the humidity and it's unbearable and I can't even make myself leave the house anymore unless I absolutely have to do so! The only people that might enjoy living here are the people that submerge their life in water sports so that they are in the water when they are outdoors. Enjoying the in the great parks, beaches, amusement parks etc. isn't even an option anymore during the daytime hours in these months, it's miserable! Additionally, the population has gotten so large that the trips across Read More
