What BestPlaces Users Say about Florida

Florida is a popular state known for its warm climate, beaches, and theme parks. However, it is also home to diverse communities and offers a variety of lifestyles. Many people consider moving to Florida, but with its large size and numerous cities, it can be overwhelming to decide on a specific place to live. BestPlaces.net provides a platform for users to share their experiences and opinions about living in different places. Here are four user reviews that offer insights and perspectives on living in Florida.

- According to "Samantha T.", who lives in Tampa, "Florida has been my home for the past ten years and I couldn't be happier. The weather is beautiful, the beaches are stunning, and there are endless activities to do. However, the cost of living can be quite high, especially in popular cities like Tampa. But the job opportunities and quality of life make it worth it." This highlights the appeal of Florida's natural beauty and activities, but also the potential trade-off of a higher cost of living.
- "John D." from Miami shares a different perspective, stating, "I've lived in Miami my whole life and I love it. The cultural diversity, food, and nightlife are unbeatable. However, the traffic and congestion can be a nightmare, and the cost of living is constantly rising. But for me, the pros outweigh the cons." This review showcases the unique aspects of Miami and the potential downsides of living in a busy city.
- In contrast, "Emily G." who resides in Gainesville says, "I moved to Gainesville for college and ended up staying for the community. It's a college town, so there's always something going on. But it's also a great place for families. The housing is affordable and there are plenty of parks and outdoor spaces to enjoy." This review offers a perspective on a smaller, more family-friendly city in Florida, highlighting its affordable housing and community atmosphere.
- Lastly, "Mike R." from Orlando shares, "Orlando is a great place to live for families and young professionals alike. The job market is booming, the cost of living is reasonable, and the weather is fantastic. Plus, having Disney World and Universal Studios as your backyard doesn't hurt." This review showcases the appeal of Orlando as a well-rounded city with various job opportunities and entertainment options.

In summary, Florida offers a diverse range of options for those considering a move. The reviews by Samantha, John, Emily, and Mike provide valuable insights and personal experiences on living in different cities within the state. The common themes of weather, cost of living, job opportunities, and entertainment are highlighted, giving a well-rounded view of what living in Florida entails.

Way to expensive!! - 12/14/2006
I've lived in St. Pete/Pinellas County my intire life. Currently the cost of living is through the roof. If you have a house that you have to pay flood insurance on, well then forget Christmas for the kids, you will have to use that money for the insurance and then some. The apartment cost is insane also, $850 a month for a 750sq foot 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment, and not luxury, or in a good neighborhood, just a plan cookie cutter apartment complex. It's hard for someone with two full time jobs to live here, and impossible for the single mother trying to make it on her own. To sum this comment up I'd say just take a look at ome of the key point. The crime index for this area is 4 points higher than the national average. The water is that clean, the air is polluted. There's is not much more development to be done, it's already a giant sardine can. It takes you 2 hours or more to drive 20 miles, do to the over population. I do have this one positive thing to say about St. Pete, the Read More

Sunshine State - 11/21/2006
Florida has become a state for the very wealthy. Seeing how the area I currently live in (Palm Beach County) is the southern playground for the rich and famous, why am I not surprised. It used to be very transient here. However, more and more people have decided to make it there home year Read More

Florida - 11/19/2006
Moved to FL when I was 3 & have lived on the west coast of FL for 25 years now. I still love it. Obviously weather is great here. Could do without the "Season" and not hurricane season...Snowbird season...But hey, it's FL what do you expect. Beaches are beautiful! People are great!
Obnoxius issues at the moment are the cost of housing and home owner's insurance on the steady rise, but in what state can you watch the sun rise on the Atlantic and watch the sunset on the Gulf in the same day if you Read More

Micco, Florida - 7/10/2006
One of the last unincorporated areas on the Indian River (Florida's East Coast Waterway, separating the mainland from the beaches.) Rural, but growing rapidly. Micco is 20 miles South of Melbourne and 20 miles North of Vero Beach. There are still housing bargains to be had, but the prices have doubled in the past year. There has never been a direct hit from a hurricane in Brevard County, but we received a great deal of damage from the past few storms that hit 70 miles South of here. The climate is semi-tropical (they say "the Tropics begin at Vero Beach"), with long hot, humid summers and wonderful balmy winters. Many people have a small home or condo here and a summer place where it is Read More
