What BestPlaces Users Say about Florida

Florida is a popular state known for its warm climate, beaches, and theme parks. However, it is also home to diverse communities and offers a variety of lifestyles. Many people consider moving to Florida, but with its large size and numerous cities, it can be overwhelming to decide on a specific place to live. BestPlaces.net provides a platform for users to share their experiences and opinions about living in different places. Here are four user reviews that offer insights and perspectives on living in Florida.

- According to "Samantha T.", who lives in Tampa, "Florida has been my home for the past ten years and I couldn't be happier. The weather is beautiful, the beaches are stunning, and there are endless activities to do. However, the cost of living can be quite high, especially in popular cities like Tampa. But the job opportunities and quality of life make it worth it." This highlights the appeal of Florida's natural beauty and activities, but also the potential trade-off of a higher cost of living.
- "John D." from Miami shares a different perspective, stating, "I've lived in Miami my whole life and I love it. The cultural diversity, food, and nightlife are unbeatable. However, the traffic and congestion can be a nightmare, and the cost of living is constantly rising. But for me, the pros outweigh the cons." This review showcases the unique aspects of Miami and the potential downsides of living in a busy city.
- In contrast, "Emily G." who resides in Gainesville says, "I moved to Gainesville for college and ended up staying for the community. It's a college town, so there's always something going on. But it's also a great place for families. The housing is affordable and there are plenty of parks and outdoor spaces to enjoy." This review offers a perspective on a smaller, more family-friendly city in Florida, highlighting its affordable housing and community atmosphere.
- Lastly, "Mike R." from Orlando shares, "Orlando is a great place to live for families and young professionals alike. The job market is booming, the cost of living is reasonable, and the weather is fantastic. Plus, having Disney World and Universal Studios as your backyard doesn't hurt." This review showcases the appeal of Orlando as a well-rounded city with various job opportunities and entertainment options.

In summary, Florida offers a diverse range of options for those considering a move. The reviews by Samantha, John, Emily, and Mike provide valuable insights and personal experiences on living in different cities within the state. The common themes of weather, cost of living, job opportunities, and entertainment are highlighted, giving a well-rounded view of what living in Florida entails.

Sweating in flip flops 24/7. - 11/24/2008
My family and I live in Florida,3+ years now, in the Sarasota and Charlotte counties.
I absolutely regret moving here to be near my mother and family members.

We moved here from California (Bay area)to excape the very expensive rent and utilities and bad luck with my husband finding a stable, reliable blue collar job. Most of his jobs were salary and had him work 7 days/week, night and day and breaking labor laws and no one seemed to care.

We are veterans, and have we lived and worked(civilian)in many places.

The best place would be Washington state(Seattle/Tacoma areas). We lived there for 10 years. Mild weather all year round and never had to use a shovel in the winter. The air is always fresh and the mountains and vegetation is beautiful(The Emerald State). washington is industrial, productive, and progressive. Lots of jobs for the blue collar worker in lots of foods/meats/bakery production and assembly lines producing all Read More

What happened to reasonable costs in South Fl? - 8/1/2008
We moved here from New York City in 1995. We had it made with cheap home prices, low cost of living and not to crowded either. When we moved we said we needed to buy 10 years to raise our son , and thats just about what we got. Crime is through the roof now, costs for services, fuel and utilities are among the highest in the country and IF i was ever able to sell, I couldn't afford to buy my own house back! I recently saw a in depth study that said Miami was more expensive that Honolulu! Maybe we should head there....Bottom line.. if you have a TON of money, Palm Beach County is beautiful . If not, look Read More

Florida Sucks - 6/13/2008
If you are born and raised in Florida then you hate it. It once was a beautiful place to live, until here came the northerners. All you here them say is " In that screechy, nasally voice " Back home we did it like this or back home we did it like that. Or the hand on the chest saying 'OH MY GOD' Well GO HOME. Fran Drescher does not live here and nor should Read More

For everyone thinking South Florida is great... - 4/13/2008
I have lived in south florida for 36 years...my husband for 38. South Florida is nothing more than an overpopulated state with tons of people moving here every day from all over the country. The weather has one season...HOT! Yes, it gets cool for a week or two each year...but the change from 50 one day to 92 the next is enough to make you scream! Hurricane season is from June 1-November 30 every year, there are tornadoes, a host of disgusting bugs (mosquitos, palmetto bugs, fire ants, etc) as well as a host of poisonous critters (rattlers, water moccasins, scorpions and widow spiders to name a few). We have been trying to GET OUT OF HERE for years. If you still want to move here (Coconut Creek, specifically), let me know...you can buy our manufactured home that we have for Read More
