What BestPlaces Users Say about Florida
Florida is a popular state known for its warm climate, beaches, and theme parks. However, it is also home to diverse communities and offers a variety of lifestyles. Many people consider moving to Florida, but with its large size and numerous cities, it can be overwhelming to decide on a specific place to live. BestPlaces.net provides a platform for users to share their experiences and opinions about living in different places. Here are four user reviews that offer insights and perspectives on living in Florida.
- According to "Samantha T.", who lives in Tampa, "Florida has been my home for the past ten years and I couldn't be happier. The weather is beautiful, the beaches are stunning, and there are endless activities to do. However, the cost of living can be quite high, especially in popular cities like Tampa. But the job opportunities and quality of life make it worth it." This highlights the appeal of Florida's natural beauty and activities, but also the potential trade-off of a higher cost of living.
- "John D." from Miami shares a different perspective, stating, "I've lived in Miami my whole life and I love it. The cultural diversity, food, and nightlife are unbeatable. However, the traffic and congestion can be a nightmare, and the cost of living is constantly rising. But for me, the pros outweigh the cons." This review showcases the unique aspects of Miami and the potential downsides of living in a busy city.
- In contrast, "Emily G." who resides in Gainesville says, "I moved to Gainesville for college and ended up staying for the community. It's a college town, so there's always something going on. But it's also a great place for families. The housing is affordable and there are plenty of parks and outdoor spaces to enjoy." This review offers a perspective on a smaller, more family-friendly city in Florida, highlighting its affordable housing and community atmosphere.
- Lastly, "Mike R." from Orlando shares, "Orlando is a great place to live for families and young professionals alike. The job market is booming, the cost of living is reasonable, and the weather is fantastic. Plus, having Disney World and Universal Studios as your backyard doesn't hurt." This review showcases the appeal of Orlando as a well-rounded city with various job opportunities and entertainment options.
In summary, Florida offers a diverse range of options for those considering a move. The reviews by Samantha, John, Emily, and Mike provide valuable insights and personal experiences on living in different cities within the state. The common themes of weather, cost of living, job opportunities, and entertainment are highlighted, giving a well-rounded view of what living in Florida entails.

I have read many reviews about living in Florida, most very negative especially regarding northeners. I have visited Florida on many occassions and the biggest problems I have noticed have been the lack of pride in the state itself. People talk about the cost of living being very high, I'm not sure they have ever lived anywhere else. I am not a New Yorker, I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years. The cost of living here is very very high, when people mention AC bills they forget to understand that up north we have to pay heat bills. When people rant about heat and humidity, they forget that up here we deal with rain 9mo out of the year, and the rain up here is different than the rain in florida.. the temp here when its raining is about 40 degrees and very damp.So yes I suppose when its raining if you bundle up you can actually go outside . People also mention the Northeners moving down to Florida and taking advantage of the natives, or driving inappropriately ... up

Florida - 4/13/2013
For anyone thinking of relocating to Florida, do it. I lived in the Tampa Bay area for over 20 + years. After I sold my house in a "short sale" I moved to Abilene, TX April 2012, where my daughter resides. She married an Air Force guy.I lived in the Brandon/Riverview area , 30 minutes from Tampa. I lived the dream in FL. I found paradise in the Tampa Bay area and lost the house in the great recession. The question now is how do regain paradise in my beloved Florida.

We Are Getting Older - 11/5/2012
Florida has it's heat. Nineties in the spring and summer and mid to upper eighties, with a period of seventy degree weather a very short time of the year. We would appreciate temperatures to be more in the sixties and seventies, where a sweater can be worn. When I work on the house it is always blistering hot. I paint during the cooler months, mow the lawn always in the hottest months. We are thinking about living in the northwest where the cost of living is affordable (?) and trade homes with a family who would trade our home for another that does not require any work. I'll be retiring in four to six years, give or take and I want to be able to care for my ailing wife in a community that is calm, quiet and mostly laid back. I am a professional guitarist, so entertaining will always be something I enjoy. An area where needs can be met with little driving; doctors, supermarkets, gas stations, etc. especially doctors who understand our medical needs. That is always an issue when moving.
