As a native Illinoisan I may be a little prejudice but I think our state has a great parks system which include many different activities.
Our state parks in particular offer many options for outdoor activities from hiking, to boating, horseback riding and just plain relaxing. There’s nothing like strolling through the woods or exploring waterfalls at Starved Rock on a weekend
