Oakland / Deep Creek Lake Area Costs - 4/3/2007
Oakland is expensive and the nearby country is expensive too based on jobs/income. Is this because of the lake? Why would I want to live around here if there are no jobs, the lake is nice but 30 minutes away land is still 10K per 1/2 acre. I am speaking about the Yough Mountain Resort with that last quote. Although, I guess it is the appeal of private 4WD riding is something. Hmm?

I have lived in Maryland all my life, except college and grad school. Maryland has it all... ocesn and mountains, urban, suburban and rural life, culture, good schools etc.. It is a wonderful place to live and raise a family... if your paychecks are big enough. The cost of living here in central Maryland (Howard County) is very high. Housing prices are out of sight.
