Terrible Roads - 11/21/2006
Michigan has two seasons, winter & construction. Despite high taxes, freeways and major highways statewide are one non-stop amalgam of patches or potholes; when you get off the freeway 90% of county roads are dirt. Major traffic delays during the summer result from mile after mile of construction zones, and new & repaired roads appear to be constructed out of the cheapest materials because they start falling apart the minute the traffic barrels are

It's really to bad because the state has so many great things to offer other then jobs right now. For someone moving here the housing market is great. Selling is a different story though.
If you're thinking of moving to Michigan, best of

I've lived in Michigan my entire life, and it's a great place to have a family. Plenty of outdoor recreation, wide open spaces, but all the amenities of big cities (we've got a few of those too!) Lots of options as far as colleges, and a good education before then too. Its
