It seems that the population of NJ just keeps growing and growing as does the cost of living. Houses are extremely expensive and continue to rise, including in the areas that used to be more affordable. The problem is that annual incomes are not rising to meet the increases in living cost. Despite out sterotyped image of big hair and loud mouths....New Jersey truly is a great place to live. New Jersey is the sum of its suburbs; to the North you have New York City, and to the South, Philadelphia. Being so close to 2 major city gives you the advantage of the big city life with comfortable suburban living. You have access to restaurants, museums, zoos, aquariums, plays, symphonies, the ballet, sports teams.... To the east you have the beautiful shoreline with relaxing beaches....and to the west...mountains, hiking and camping. The newly revived Atlantic City, provides the traditional gaming entertainment coupled now with shows, concerts, comedy, outet shopping, and top notch restaurants.
If you are still not satisfied with all there is to do in and around New Jersey, we are a short drive from Washington DC and Boston. Access to transportation especially international airports is easy, and give you many options for planning your getaways.

In general, most residents maintain their homes and take pride in ownership. The people are generally friendly and a lot of young people with children are buying homes here lately. There is a nice cultural mix of people from various countries which provides the neighborhood with a variety of different views and looks.
The taxes are one of the highest in the state. The education system has gone downhill and the municipality isn't doing much to change.
