Amazing Outdoor Adventure Town!

We moved to Alamosa in 2017 from Boulder County which is an amazing place to live but way to crowded and expensive. You give up some of the city amenities moving to a small town but you gain much more.
If you are an outdoors person at all you will absolutely love it here! The Rio Grande river runs through town and perfect for paddle boarding or tubing. The Sangre de Cristos, San Juan mountain ranges and Great Sand Dunes are nearby offering spectacular views and adventure: Backpacking, sand boarding, hiking, trail running skiing and mountain biking WITHOUT the crowds of other Colorado cities......YET.
Wolf Creek ski area is a little over an hour away and offers the best skiing in Colorado without the I70 traffic to deal with. This place gets the most snow in Colorado and has chairlift service, side country with snow cat access and backcountry along with Nordic ski track.
Alamosa has Adams State University which offers cultural performances, great sports teams and and a nice academic vibe.
The city has a small airport to easily fly in/out. The cost of living is excellent and living by the golf course area offers easy access to a good golf course, running trails and first class bird watching.
The downtown area continues to improve and has a couple of cool breweries and coffee shop. Locals favorite Kristi Mountain Sports is better than REI with staff that knows their stuff and can share with you the best spots for getting outdoors.
Living in a small town isn't for everyone and I am thankful for that!
