In addition to its many other favorable attributes Albany is ideally located just 2 1/2 hours away from the Florida Gulf Coast beaches and 3 hours from the mountains of north Georgia. And if you want the atmosphere of a big city Atlanta is only 3 hours distant. But if you do go there, after two or three days you'll want to return to the wonderfully laid back life in Albany.
